My little trip to Otley was worthwhile today......

Coast, apricot coloured crossover cardi with 3/4 length sleeves, 99p in St Gemma's. Black M & S long sleeved t shirt also 99p in St Gemma's. Yesterday, I got an M & S dark blue A line skirt with a self belt and big patch pockets, b/n and very smart looking, £3.75 from the Sue Ryder Hospice Shop. Also, in the community chazza I found a Penhaligon's Scent Library consisting of ten small test tubes of their perfumes in a metal case, all unused. I'm a bit wary of perfumes and toiletries generally from charity shops having purchased some in the past that have deffo 'gone orft" but I had a sneaky try of one in the shop and it seems OK...£1.25.

    Still in shock...

In Warrington, but I can't remember which shop as I went in a few. This was on a table marked "Everything on table 2 for £1". I found a pretty Next necklace to finish off a friend's present, and was looking for something else to make up the £1. Feel guilty now, they can't have known it should have been under the counter glass display shelf with £25 on it.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

:) Pand0ra is one of the biggest gimmicks going, you're paying for the brand's advertising and silly mark-ups. If you can't find someone who's also under the 'dora spell, you're looking at a re-sale value of pennies.

Several people I know buy in secondhand jewellery for scrap. They won't usually touch this stuff because the value is a few pennies' worth of silver but the owners have paid such an over-inflated price that they think they've got something of real value, and aren't happy to be told otherwise. Sterling silver commands about 30p a gramme on the open market - end of.

So, in terms of 'value' the 2 for £1 table was about the market rate.

    GQ

I am so glad you said that as I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me as the dora stuff leaves me cold and I think of it as something for a child if it were not for the expense.

I was chatting to a dd a few days ago and found she thought much the same which was a relief.

GQ & Elona I feel the same way - chunky things that get in the way of mouse-work and slim sleeves!

I appreciate the reality regarding Pandora pricing but there's a level of sentimentality involved that's nothing like B&H.

My husband bought me a bracelet and charms for when we bought our house, got married and I had DS. My mum also got me one which considering her health is at best mediocre and she's already done her will and arranged her funeral, has a lot of feeling behind it.

I'm looking forward to getting another one for when my daughter arrives in April.

We all have our preferences xx

Probably get more by selling on ebay.
There's currently one at £8.50 with 5 bids and 6 days left to go so there is a market for them.
Always seems to be a few bracelets (and charms) in the windows of various Cash Converter-style shops.

I do wear a lot of silver, Pandora is not my cup of tea but I can understand the sentimentality of the charms to the people who do like them.

dolly84 - would have loved your hot pink Seasalt sweatshirt.
