Me and my lovely sis had a giggle about Lynx. Apparently, there was something on Facebook about it.
    But gifted -and appreciated.
So, today I started my Christmas 2018 shopping:
a lovely striped long sleeved Burton shirt £1.00 Air Ambulance.
Checked collar, cuffs & armholes and passed the test.
    In the laundry bin.

Yesterday we had a little wander around the shops in the bigger town near us, I got a Crew Clothing rugby shirt for DH for 99p and a hand knitted in Nepal 100% wool jumper for me for 99p, it is one of those oversized hippy-ish jumpers. I am definitely a hippy at heart and am thrilled with it.

These were both in the Oxfam everything £1.99 shop which was having a half price sale, I think this may be some sort of outlet so I may have saved my jumper from a terrible fate.

  • BNWT little black dress from M&S. £6. This is the last of my spending on clothes in 2017 as I am going on a no clothes spending diet in 2018 so really pleased to go out on a high. I have found that when I donate clothes to the CS nine times out of ten they are things I have bought from there rather than ones I bought from ordinary shops. Think it tells me I must be more discriminating and not just buy because cheap/good labels.
All that clutter used to be money

It's easier to part with something that only cost you £1 rather than £30!

Whilst tidying/decluttering over Twixtmas, I found a couple of old style £5 notes so I nipped out to the bank this morning to get them changed. I called into the Blue Cross CS next to the bank and treated myself to a brand new, still sealed in box, electric pie maker for £2. I recall there was a thread about pie makers here about a year ago, and several people seemed to really like them. I’m drawn to the fact you can cook a couple of pies in less than 10 minutes (Mister CJ loves a pie, and there’s just the two of us at home these days).

I’m slightly disappointed that the pies it makes look quite small - there doesn’t seem room for an overly-generous filling - but I shall give it a whirl this week. Still pleased for just two quid though!

Love the term Twixtmas CJ - really apt for the days between Christmas and New Year.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
