So sorry, but not living there makes it difficult for me to direct you - I'm sure some Liverpudlian will be able to help though.
We're usually in the car, but I wouldn't say it was within walking distance of central Liverpool (unless you're very fit)! Son's near Hawarden Avenue off the Smithdown Road, if that's any help - and the charity shops are near that end.
ETA Just seen Floss2's post and that's about right!Normal people worry me.0 -
I picked up a lovely Junior J hoody from Scope in Bangor for £1.95 - perfect.
I am in Bangor, N Wales & I often walk from Upper Bangor starting with "Upper Annie's" great for furniture / household bits, "St David's Hospice" nicely laid out & good quality books & bric a brac.
Once in town you have Red Cross, British Heart Foundation & Cancer Research within a few doors of each other. Current fave is BHF for clothes for little one. Scope is in the Deniol Centre has had a sort out & a bit more organised now.
Further down town is Age Concern which often runs £1 or 1/2 price sales - good linen selection, virtually next door is Oxfam - great books and the trail ends in lower Bangor with another Annie's store.
Hope this helps any other local MSE'r x0 -
Got a boxed set of 6 dvd`s for £30

Dave, you're in Bangor?!?! I didn't realise there was a MSE'r so close! I'm in Llandudno but used to live in Bangor. I love the charity shops there!0

I had time to kill before going to lunch yesterday so popped into the Dalston Oxfam - manged to buy only two Cd's 99p and 10p and a cookery book but they were filming in there for a Channel 4 programme on clothing yourself for an interview on less than twenty five quid. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Hi All
I have had an amazing morning in my local CS's.
There's a top I have had my eye on for a few weeks for £3.99 and today I woke up and decided to stop faffing around and just buy it.
When I got to the shop it had gone and I was gutted, but then I found it on the sale rail for 99p. Obviously I bought it immediately : )
In the next shop I got DD a Sonny with a Chance dvd for £1.50, Santa Claus the movie dvd for 50p.
In the next shop I got DS some Umbro shorts for £1 and godson a xmas book for £1.
In the final shop (one I don't tend to go in) I spotted a sign outside that all childrens clothes were reduced and so I got DS an Abercrombie and Fitch polo shirt for 50p!!!!! Bargain.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -

For those who want to go to Liverpool for charity shops the best areas are not in the city centre. Old Swan has a street full of them from the main chains to the little independent ones. Allerton has a good few as well on the main road through. Crosby also has good charity shops in South Road and St Johns Road.I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0

For those of you in the Greater Manchester area Cheadle has about 6 charity shops and one of them has a great vintage section.
This week got two beautiful dresses size 14. CS's are really helping me as I am on a mission to lose weight and just manage to pick up a couple of items to keep me going until I drop to the next size. Anyway dresses were Monsoon and M&S 2.99 each perfect.Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
