    This week's bargains...total cost £10.25 :)

Navy casual straight skirt in heavy cotton, BNWT, £2.25

Black, slim fit M & S trousers, already have them in charcoal so I knew would fit. Someone had taken them up, (badly!), tho - but I took a chance as could always wear them tucked into boots. When I unpicked the hem I realised they had not cut anything off or done any unpicking so a bit of work with a damp cloth and a hot iron and as good as new! £2

Wine coloured knee length M & S skirt, looks unworn, perfect match for some wine coloured suede ankle boots previously found in same shop, £3

Black leather chelsea boots, as good as new and just what I was looking for! £3.

Everything from either the hospice sale or the community chazza shop.

    A great week :j
  • Oh yes, that would be in part why I'm a Denbyholic - I *adore* the lines...
Nearly every pattern is on a graceful curvaceous shape.

    Arabesque for Christmas? Brilliant idea!

It's not such a good idea, when I'm putting them away after my mum's washed them after the Christmas dinner. I always worry one's going to slip out of my hands and smash. It was previously my Gran's set, I think we got it when we moved into a house with a dining room!
  • I didn't buy as I have no little ones but saw a lovely small train set. I don't think it was brio but very similar in a large wooden box wth lid and rope handle. The train set inside was still in original boxes and you could have easily given to a small child for Christmas as it was in very good condition.
It was £20 which may seem a lot for a charity shop but was worth it

I know the feeling my dad gave me 2 royal doulton lidded serving dishes and a matching gravy boat and stand that he and my late mum were given as a wedding pressie to use for Christmas lunch last year (these items had never been used in my memory and had clearly been kept for better than best). It was a lovely thought and not quite what I expected when I asked to borrow other veg dishes and gravy jug for the meal. He also brought round mums expensive prize possession wine glasses to use although thankfully took the back to his cabinet when he left. I was so worried washing the up - one false move with wet hands!
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"
  • After a bit of thin pickings of late this week I got an Emma Bridgewater pink hearts teapot for £1.50 from Sue Ryder. It was really dirty but has come up a treat with sterilising solution. Also from Scope a pink leather purse for £1.25 and a t shirt and sweatshirt for DS for £1 and £2.75. Then for me in various shops 2 Next tops, a White Stuff top, a Landsend shirt and a pair of Tu skinny cord for about £ 12 in total. Must remind myself next time I'm feeling like I've lost my charity shop mojo. Oh and a very thin bangle which I think is silver for 50p.

Went looking for a stainless steel teapot as mine was so o!d and developed a leak - usually there is one in every CS - would you believe there wasn't one!!!! I did manage to bag a beautiful black pigskin jacket and on the same rail a buttersoft dark grey leather biker style jacket ( do love my leather jackets!!!) Got them in my local cancer trust CS for £15 for the two. The biker jacket still has the swing ticket on it!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Yesterday's bargains were an unused black faith handbag which I think is leather but not sure. It was a bit pricey and £8.99 but very smart. A catchphrase game that was unopened for £2.99 great for Christmas to play with the family and a ladies penhaligons unopened perfume set in a lovely tin £5 one sold on eBay yesterday for £27 so very pleased with that one and it will be used as a secret santa gift

Just popped into a local (not national) charity shop whilst waiting for the bus to my sister's.
Found 2 pairs of unworn fleece lined leggings in fuchsia and teal (colours I wear a lot).
They look short in the leg which suits me.
They have a 'bum' lifter' panel which should be good.
    £1.99 per pair.

    ETA:
just tried these on before chucking them in the wash and they are FAB!
Checked through my wardrobe and I have lots of tunics that will go with them.

In the last few weeks I have got my mum a new 3 piece suite which was only 12 months old for under£200 and is immaculate and an original 1970's vintage coat which is a perfect fit for under£9 and a per una skirt for a couple of pounds which looks unworn. Love to find something a little bit different. Usually look for vintage tablecloths, glasses and mirrors
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
