What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Last chazza visit of the week and I found a Viyella fine cotton shirt, lovely and soft and perfect for wearing under a sweater. £1.50 in the hospice shop. Also had a sort out of all my travel guide books/maps, decided where I was unlikely to return to and donated them....now have lots of lovely space on my bookshelves :j0

Well it was such a lovely day today I decided to reward myself with some well-earned OS treats. The first was sticking my washing outside and bringing it in eight hours later perfectly dried! I never thought I'd be saying this on 9th December
I took myself off to a town a few miles off, parking a distance away and walking through a country park. Took in 5 chazzers and them walked down to the next small town, where I found another 4! There was precious little clothing for our LO (I didn't look for me) but I came away with 12 really good quality books for all of £5. Happy holiday readingValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Decided to join you all again, I was last here regularly in 2007 :eek:0 -
Today was Nettlebed hurrah (the last sale of the year, boo) and despite getting a bit damp in all the drizzle, I had a lovely time. My bargains today included:
A large dog bed for the ever-growing Rufus. He has his own bed already of course, but he spends a lot of time with Mister CJ in his workshop and needed somewhere cosy to snuggle down when he gets bored with rearranging pieces of wood offcuts out there. The bed cost just £3, bargain! It's scrubbed up like new, and is now lined with a duvet for him. He woofed with approval.
A set of 30 matching glass champagne flutes for £2, exactly what I was after for a family celebration in January. Perfect.
Half a supermarket carrier bag filled with genuine Lego pieces for £3, for my younger daughter who is a primary school teacher and who runs a Lego group for some of the special needs littlies. Also 10 really lovely primary school books for her collection, a mix of storybooks including some lovely ethnic ones and some factual Usbornes ones - just 10p per book and they are in fab condition.
A couple of recipe books - a hairy bikers ones which has some nice recipes in it (I think it was the book they had out this time last year) and one on gluten free cooking which looks brand new and which I will give to son in law who loves cooking but has recently discovered he is gluten intolerant now. Books were 50p each.
A big hozelock reel of garden hose for £3
A Victorinox 7" meat cleaver with a rosewood handle for £5. I checked online when I got home and this version only seems to be available in the US for about $120 so I am very happy with that! It's frighteningly sharp (but I guess it is supposed to be).
A pair of lined Liberty print fabric curtains for younger daughter's bedroom - she will be coming home to stay over Christmas and we've just given her room a long-overdue redecoration. Curtains £10, and so pretty!
Two pairs of new blackout linings to replace the ones on our bedroom curtains, as ours are quite old now and seem to have developed tiny pinprick holes in them so the light gets through. £1 per pair.
A long fish spatula thing, just the right size for taking a whole trout out of a pan, 50p.
I think that's it. It's a bit like the conveyor belt on the Generation Game trying to recall everything0 -
^^Wow, you did incredibly well!
Got another 4 books from various chazzers today, one written by a lecturer whose work I meant to pursue further this year. Total: £1.50.
Also a good quality waterproof coat for our princess for all of £2, which we'll save until she's big enough for it.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Is one room in your house a library, VfM? You possibly buy more books than I do, and that's saying something0

Jeez! Were you wearing a black & yellow striped jumper & a mask when you got this haul?
Will comment later on individual bargains, I'm on the bus & on my phone but kudos to you. :T0 -

What doesn't fit in my current study or dining room (which doubles as my library) is piled into neat stacks of 20s on my floorValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I haven't ventured in the charity shops recently as I have been so busy at work, but I had a very rare half day on Friday so visited a couple of old favourites. Local hospice shop came good with a brand new with tags Accessorize lambswool beret, in gorgeous pastel colours. Perfect to go with my niece's Christmas presents and only £1. I also bought myself two necklaces for myself for £1 each. I really like long, chunky necklaces and tend to rely on the charity shops to buy them.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
