Was away at rellies last weekend and one of my cousins is an avid CS hunter. She was wearing a beautiful fake fur jacket that she paid £60 for!!! I checked the label on line and they retail at over £300 (it really was very good quality ) she said she'd never thought of checking on line before. Shame I didn't have time to visit the CS where she buys her clothes - they're outside London so I think they get some very upmarket items.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Wow, what a coincidence! I just found a Mason & Cash pet bowl, in a rather classy Burberry design, unused as the original label was still on the base, for £1 in the Hospice warehouse shop :D . Charlie is going to be a very posh cat when he has his tea tonight!

Great find! They sure are great pet bowls aren't they?
I bet Charlie is one very happy cat !! :)

Lol, unfortunately the OH isn't - "we've already got spare cat dishes, why do you want to clutter the place up with more?". He doesn't get it! :wall:

  • A china coffeepot, made by Bourne (the guys who were there before Denby) base stamp & turners marks date it to 1898, & I bought it for £2.

very lucky find there.... I have been looking for things like this but no joy.

I've had a few successes recently, all stuff for our little princess to wear: 2 smart dresses, an embroidered t-shirt, hand-knitted cardigan and winter coat for the next couple of years. Also a fluffy Bang on The Door cushion, which she'll love - all for under £9. Plus a gorgeous scarf for myself for 99p :)

I see so many gorgeous baby outfits but have to remember that our LO is no longer small.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I haven't been to our local Age Concern warehouse for a while and as it was a miserable wet morning I went and had a good look around and I was so glad I did!
I got a silk brown and cream halter neck Debut by Debenhams dress and a pair of brown leather Next wedges with a wooden heel that are immaculate. £4 for the dress and £2 for the shoes:money: I'm going to a wedding in May so I now have a new outfit :j
I also got two New Look blouses (£2 each)to wear with skinny jeans which will be great for a couple of Christmas lunch get togethers i have with some ex colleagues.
I also got 6 pretty glass bowls for £2 which I'm going to fill with HM fudge for Christmas gifts and a silver carousel money box for a £1. I've cleaned it using the tin foil and bicarb method and it's come up beautifully. I'm going to give it to my great nephew for Christmas. He's only two months old so he doesn't really need anything so this with some money to put in it is perfect.
I was on the look out for vases and bowls that I can use to make Christmas decorations and there was a few nice ones for 50p - £1 so I now have three, one of which is big enough to make a centre piece for the dining table.
A couple of 50p books and a 50p Sherlock Holmes DVD completed the best haul I've had in ages :)
Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
Mortgage neutral achieved August 2020 - 7 years early!!!
  • BHF had their own 'new gift' range of Jack Russell Terrier (I think) photo cushions (made by Evans Lichfield) normally £10 down to £3 each.

And (elsewhere) More Tom Shields' Diary for 25p
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • A brand new pair of black suede court shoes from Jones Bootmaker in my size for £3 from the local hospice shop.

I have no idea what these usually retail at, but they appear to be great quality and will be perfect for work.

Not bought much lately, just a TU tunic in pink and purple jersey - TU seem to do quite nice quality jersey - with 3/4 sleeves, pefect with leggings or jeggings £1 from Air Ambulance.

Also a pair of 100% white linen trousers from M&S 'Love Linen' range £1 from Age Concern. They're the style that has an elasticated webbing back so really comfy.

Tried on a fab Fat Face dress, navy with turrquoise humming birds on but even though it was my usual size, it was too small. A bit relieved as it was £8. :rotfl:
