I posted earlier that if in doubt when buying shoes from a CS I used to use the the bin powder that can be used in kennels and hutches but any of the anti bacterial wipes would be just as good.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Two more dresses for my Seychelles friend-got more stuff for her in my case than I've got for myself!
The dresses are a big success, didn't realise how many I had til I unpacked them! All fit and only one she's not sure of. The games and craft stuff for the kiddies were well received too.
Just to let you know, the weather here is lovely!0 -

A Daphne-du-maurier 1st edition of My Cousin Rachel for 50p:)
Getting back into reading the classics after being mesmerised by The Moonstone !!
Is this valuable?
I love Daphne Du Maurier.
I have a 4 book hardback omnibus - Rebecca, My Cousin Rachel, Frenchman's Creek & Jamaica Inn.
I sometimes re-read on a cold, wet day.
I love the old films too - Larry O & Joan Fontaine in Rebecca, Olivia De Havilland (I think) in My Cousin Rachel
I did buy some less well-known DDM books that I got from our Hospice shop but can't remember what they are (I'm currently out).
ETA:
the books are 'Julius' and 'The Parasites'.
I'd a vague feeling that she wrote some books that some people might not be aware of:
The Birds
Don't Look Now
both made into famous films.
Richard Burton was Philip in 'My cousin Rachel' (1952).
Apparently it's being remade starring Rachel Weisz, released next year.
And Olivia De Havilland was 100 yesterday. I didn't know she was Joan Fontaine's sister.
Can you tell I'm bored.......0 -

A few lovely baking items for me today from a hospice shop - a 12-hole patterned-base metal mini pastry/tart case tray thing (will be great for bite size canapes), a nesting set of four white/blue enamel pudding bowls (the smallest holds a pint, the largest about three pints) and a couple of large silicone ring moulds which might be perfect to use in the dehydrator to hold the puree when making fruit leathers.
All the above for the grand total of £3.50, yay!0 -

They usually have poppers underneath to facilitate changing.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
