Yesterday afternoon I found another 6 books (completing the Harry Potter collection, which I'll read to the LO in years to come), that makes 19 in 4 days. All of my additional bookcase space is now full accounted for
I found a lovely denim dress for our little princess for £1.59, it's only when I walked out I realised I too was wearing a denim dress, maybe I'm unconsciously creating a mini-me.
Lastly, a pristine Bang on the Door girly mug for 50p, and this for £1.50:
Yes, a swizzle stick! Of course I gave it a whirl in a "man-makes-fire" manner firstValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

You are so going to enjoy Nettlebed, VfM! You seem to have just the right personality for the place
I forgot to mention before, but it's perfectly OK to haggle a bit when you are there. Some things have price tags on them, but even then it's considered fine to ask "what's the very best price for this?" or "would you take £2 for this bundle?" etc etc. The vast majority of the volunteers are really happy to enter into the spirit of this (they want to keep the stock moving quickly, and maintain the reputation for it being a place of fabulous bargains) so don't be shy about making an offer for anything.
When I went last Saturday, it was mobbed. The on-site car parking was full by just after 9.00am and they closed the gates!!0 -
I had to ban myself from going into charity shops for about 3 weeks as I was skint. However I am now back on the straight and narrow and found a pair of Levi's for DS in Mind shop for £6
Still haven't been back to all my regular haunts, I have about 20 in total, so looking forward to that0 -

We went into a camping shop looking for some shorts for me as mine are all a bit past it..
The prices were astonishing..Anyway we popped into a chazzer on the way home and there were some hiking type shorts just asking to be bought..I went mad and bought 4 pairs(all new and really well made) and 3 pairs of trousers too with numerous pockets.
I spent £28 which was less than the cost of one pair of shorts in the camping style shop.I live in shorts from april to september so they will get good use.0 -

Yesterday I visited a Samaritans shop in Chesterfield. Never been there before.
I bought six books at 50p each, 5 balls of cotton yarn for dishcloths at 50p a ball and a tee shirt for £3.50. I was tempted by a large basket for £3 and a case of Tala preserve jars selling at an unbelievable £1 each. I have enough jars so left them for someone else!
Why am I telling you this?
On paying I complimented the very friendly volunteer on having a great charity shop. Her reply was quite sad. The shop is closing in two weeks to be refurbished. No longer will it be a shop selling everything that is donated and saleable. In the words of the volunteer...no longer the place for 'rooting'.
The volunteer then said that she is finishing as she likes the shop as it is and she isn't the only one doing this.
This is so sad. I wonder whether the 'refurb' will generate more money for the cause.0
