Got a pair of men's M&S lightweight trousers for £2 from hospice shop whilst up in Angelsey. DH wouldn't try them on and wasn't sure if he liked them, but has worn them almost continually.0

I was really happy to find a brand new Anne Harvey floaty top for special occasions for a fiver.
However, I took it into a local altering service shop as I did not like the low v neck showing 'ahem' more than it should at my age.
£14.50  I was too embarrassed to say no to this as she had already pinned the top to raise it. OUCH!!!
Wish I had purchased a modesty panel as this would have been far cheaper.0 -

I know, right!! We have loads of CS, as do most towns and the prices are ridiculous. We also have a Pep and Co plus a Peacocks, and the price of some of the clothes in CS are on a par with Peacocks etc.
However, we have a fabulous Barnados store, and today I got 2 (looks like new) cushions for £1.99 each and another dress for my Seychelles friend for 99p. All my grandson's toys came from there, marvellous place!0 -
Spent £20 in the Sally Anne BUT got two like new gents shirts (M & S and Next), two pair of brand new chinos and a pair of like new raspberry pink Pavers Mary Jane shoes which will brighten up my sensible work wardrobe (being as I can' wear heels any more, sigh). Sounds like a lot but it actually only cost me £10 as I paid £10 in vouchers and still got two loyalty stamps for spending a tenner in "actual" money. I love the Sally Anne - they do a great job and they don't generally overcharge.Looking ahead0

And another Seychelles dress for my friend found today-99p George dress.0

I feel mightily p*ssed off today, gonna treat myself to a chazzer browse at the weekend. I'll drag the baby out with me, whether she likes it or not.
So much for good intentions.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I was browsing for a 'going out' top for a theatre visit next week when I came across a Country Casuals, 2 piece, trouser suit in a beautiful, dark, off teal/bottle green in Wolverhampton Cancer Research.
Next to a paler, Jacques Vert skirt suit.
The original £199.00 tags were still on it.
I suspect it was bought, worn for an occasion and then the buyer tried to return it, but were turned down for a return.
The waistband clearly showed signs of wear - although extremely smart, it's in no way pristine.
The pockets hadn't been unpicked.
£5
The sleeves and legs need shortening, so it won't be ready by next Tuesday and I suspect what I saved in the purchase price will be spent on "SPECIALIST DRY CLEANING ONLY".
But I love it. Not least because it's a size 16 and it fits.
I've lost enough weight to go from a size 22 to a proper Country Casuals size 16.
Don't anyone spoil my buzz now by telling me "Country Casuals always comes up on the big side", just don't.
I've got a posh-ish label for a fiver.
A pair of barely worn, Clarks Narrative grey monks - £10.99 Walsall BHF.
They had been polished with neutral polish which had accumulated in the details and the leather was scuffed.
One hour, one toothpick and a tin of Cherry Blossom Grey Renovating Polish later, I have a very smart pair of shoes for about 1/6 of the retail price.
I've found the going out top.
BNWT, black and grey, body con style, lined George top, was £16, sold in Asda's half price sale and bought in Wolverhampton PDSA for £4.99.
Not bad.
Not as brilliant as some of your finds, but this lot should last me for a fair while. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Recently went on a trawl of nine charity shops in my area and bought just one shirt! Seems all the prices are ridiculously high for some cheap labels and clothing and, while I enjoy chazzas, I'm not sure it's a good use of my time! I've been buying more off eBay as a result but it's difficult not knowing how something looks on you. Donated quite a few things due to this which, although cheap, add up!0
