What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Despite vowing never to go in there again, I went to SCOPE, and bought a brand new greetings card (£1) for my dad's birthday from their brand new cards range, and a Val McDermid book for £1. I ummed and ahhed about a nearly new copy of The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman (also at £1) In the end I didn't buy it, and went back for it yesterday, and it was still there, picked it up and another card for my dad's birthday for my mum to give to him.
Talking of which charity shops people give to, I've remembered why I don't like giving to Shelter, is because not only do they employ Chuggers, when I was last in my local Shelter shop, I overheard one of the volunteers complaining about how much tat they receive in donations, this may be true but not something you want to overhear when you're bringing goods in.0 -
Really delighted to get six vintage water glasses with engraved flowers and leaves = £3 - really pretty and I think they will be lovely for setting the dining table for special occasions
From the same CS, I browsed the 5 for £1 book shelves and picked out 4 large VGC hard backed books still in the dust covers for just a £1 (cookery, crafts, natural cosmetic and household hints) Will re-donate once read!
So excited by my bargains that I forgot to check their knitting wool bin as in search of cotton yarn to knit face flannels and dishcloths....next week and still looking for the elusive pyrex measuring jug!:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

its interesting to read the great bargains people get in their local shops...i think the ones local to me have lost the plot with their pricing i know they want to make some money but the prices for used clothes originally from primark are dearer than they are in primark

As I don't actually need anything and I'm making headway into my Pinterest wish list, Imam going to try to ration my chazzer-browsing activity. The next time I shall go will be to a local authority sale / swap shop at the beginning of July. I shall just have to lust over the bargains you lovely OSers post here. Can I hold out, I wonder?
Speaking of swapping, does anyone remember watching Multi-Coloured SwapShop on Saturday morning TV? I never got it at the time, now it gives me a thrillValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

There's a British Heart Foundation shop near me, I don't bother with it, as it's just far too expensive. I've seen tatty paperbacks for £2.49, if the books were unread or read with care, and ones that were retailing on Amazon with quite a high price, I wouldn't mind as much, but well worn ones, that in other shops would be a £1 or less, no thanks!
I dropped a bag of items to the Cancer Research shop and they were really grateful, makes me want to donate more then!
I popped into the local hospice charity shop that's next door to the CR shop, and I noticed they'd got Gone Girl on DVD for £1, so I picked that up, and the hardback edition of Girl on the Train for 75p. The book slopes forward a bit, and the pages are tanned, but brand new in paperback it's £3.85 in Tesco, so 75p for the hardback edition isn't bad at all! Couldn't believe it when I saw it, I told myself I didn't need it when I saw it in Tesco.0 -

Got new to me DKNY Cardigan for €4, new look dress for €2 and baby clothes as well - jasper Conrad bodysuit €1, next denim jacket €3... Paid a little bit more than I usually do for the bits but all in immaculate condition, delighted I was!
Also, left off a donation of some unwanted household stuff and hubbys trousers that are now too short on the leg for him...094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

Recent bargains include a pair of Next jeans which fit beautifully £2 from Age UK, brand new Per Una linen trousers £1,99 from my Barnardos favourite and today a beautiful maxi dress for my hols - it was from BHF which I usually avoid as I find them pricy - £8.75 which is the most I've spent on a single item. I love it.
I've also found a massive charity warehouse locally that I didn't know existed - lots of housewares and furniture. Haven't bought anything yet but it's just a matter of time.....0 -
A number of my local CS are having sales at the moment! I had to get ready for a traditional funeral yesterday, so a trawl of the local shops produced a Principles jacket, a Steilman top and a black skirt, all at £2 each! Plus a David Jones multicoloured handbag and a Per Una jacket for £4 for both in another shop, and the first two series of The Good Wife for £3 each!
So, all in all, I'm very pleased....0
