What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Got a linen tunic/shirt by a brand called "east" for £4.95 in barnados...had a quick look on their website and most stuff seems to be about £80 !! Who buys this stuff??!! Jennifer Aldridge maybe??!!
I do:j I love EAST stuff but I buy it on Ebay for much less than the retail price. You're lucky finding anything East in a charity shop.
My latest charity shop bargain was a Wedgwood tea set in a very pretty wild Strawberry pattern for £12. . Couldn't believe it knowing the prices that Wedgwood goes for:j0 -
Anyone else squeamish about shoes from charity shops/boot sales(no pun intended!) etc ?
I don't mind clothes cos u can wash them, but i feel shoe are a step too far
(ok ok pun intended that time!!;))
Pre broken in shoes?! What's not to love!
I wouldn't buy anything that looked worn, but I've had some fab shoe bargains - Dr Martins for £3, another pair of brown leather boots for £10 that saw me through the winter and no doubt will last next winter too.
Also dressy occasion shoes - the type you buy to wear with a fancy outfit and only put them on your feet once, charity shops are great for those!0 -
Morning all.
There is loads of East items in our charity shops so you will have to come here to pick up your bargains
Another one here who agrees about the BHF shops they are so expensive here. With primark dresses starting at around £8.99 Used Hotter and clarks shoes starting at about £15  I must say the shop is a lovely bright well laid out shop but the prices are just so high its a shame
I never buy from there everI will go next door to the Sally Army and buy the same for a fraction of the price.
Some great bargains showing up folks so well done.

Our BHF is very expensive too. I used to volunteer there, and couldn't believe the price that some things were priced up at. In most charity shops (although the majority of them are getting a lot pricey than they used to be - more clued up now I guess?) you can afford to take a punt on something for £1-£2, but when prices start going up to about £7-£8 plus, it doesn't make it seem so much of a bargain find, especially when the item wasn't that much more new.
I'm another one who doesn't really buy shoes for a charity shop. If anything is going to make me abit  it'll be used shoes! I have bought some in the past that look in very good/as new condition, but not very often.
My recent finds include some more £1 dresses, a dorothy perkins striped sleevless blouse/top, looks as new - £3.0 -
Hello Icey
If you search back through this thread (I think it is post number 4804) I've posted further info about Nettlebed. It's a huge outdoor sale that is held every three weeks on the site of the Sue Ryder Joyce Grove hospice between Wallingford and Henley (Oxon/Berks border).0 -
I do not go to Charity Shops anymore, they are just taking the P with the prices they are charging for second hand tat that was not only given to them but gift aided too.
I have donated thousands of pounds to them over the years, now I would rather give things away on FreeCycle.
There are two local to me and they both play the same game, especially on clothes.
If anyone can recommend a particular brand of shop that are still realistic in their pricing. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -
