What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

clickerty-click wrote: »I had a little Charity shop walk about yesterday, I have been looking for a red dufflle style coat/jacket I found one yesterday in the first shop I went in, Dorothy Perkins £5.99. Browsing the sale rail in the third shop and found a nice green B&M jacket reduced to £2.99, looks even better since it's been through the washer! Feeling very happy with my excess of coats I dropped in one more shop on my way home and got a Paul Costello Dressage red raincoat reduced to £2.50!!
As the other half said "that will keep you going for a few years"
That reminds me of something my dear mum said once, when she was I suppose about 80 (she lived to 96)... we were looking at coats in a shop, and we reminded her that she had far too many already. She said "well I need to stock up on coats for when I can't get out to shop anymore". Spot the irony! :rotfl:
I love finding clothing from other countries, and I don't mean made in China or sweatshop places. For one thing they are usually unique, you're not going to find someone else wearing the same thing, and for another thing they are generally top quality.
At the weekend I found in Age UK a pair of what looked like quilted mittens in a lilac colour, brand new, and when I put my hand inside they had lovely soft fingers divisions, and when I inspected the labels they are padded with goose down, so toasty warm. Made in the USA by Eddie Bauer. Similar selling online between around $30 and $45 - I paid £2.99 :T . I suffer from painful Raynauds in my fingers in cold weather, and I think I may have at last found a solution!
In the same shop I spotted a pair of dark navy jeans, that looked really comfortable, very basic, no pockets or belt loops, and elasticated waist. I nearly didn't bother as they had "ruched" ankles, but I tried them on and they looked nice with my boots (despite my age). For £2.99 I thought I might be able to get away with them on appropriate occasions. The label said Jackpot Daily, which I had never heard of, but it seems Jackpot is a Danish company that specialises in organic fabric. Pity the washing instructions had been cut out, but they survived a 30 degree quick cycle and look great. A good weekend! :T

It seems my attempts to convert my sister to become a chaz-fan have been successful.
She came back from a walk to the High Street earler, very exited with the baby dresses she had bought. I have to say they were almost as beautiful as my little niece.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I'm always a bit shocked when I see people in places like Debenhams, looking at clothes costing probably a day's pay for a lot of folk. I want to give them a shake and convert them! :rotfl:I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Also if too many people get the charity shop bug, there will be more competition for the bargains!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
