    D'ya reckon?
I think they'd be a shoo-in for it - that is, based on the other mathematically clueless bods who've been on it.....:rotfl:

I am not having much luck recently.

I have found some lovely things but not at bargain prices. The chazzers round 'ere find there prices off ebay now. That seems to be the going rate.

Barnados and Oxfam still doing my head in because they are sorting by colour not size. So I can't find anything at the moment.

I experienced this with the new travel cot I bought. The chaz manager looked at the going rate for used on eBay (as opposed to RRP, which was much higher) and then halved it. I was happy with what I spent at the time, but realised very quickly that keeping baby safe is in fact priceless.

  • Three bargains this week. The first an M & S Autograph cashmere cardigan, brand new with tags attached, purchased for the amazing price of £4.99. The second a brand new with tags M & S women's T shirt which cost £3.00. And finally, a seventies psychedelic tablecloth for £1!!!

No 'finds' at all this last week....in fact I'm more pleased with the fact that I resisted buying something! It was a rather jolly looking The White Company thin parka-type jacket in a grey & teal coloured pattern. Not new but in reasonable condition. Had it been on the ordinary rail it would have been £3 to £3.50 and I would have snapped it up but the hospice chazza had put it on their 'posh' rail with a price tag of £25! I don't think I have ever seen anything in the clothes place before with such a high price tag. Hope this isn't a sign of the way things are going. :(

Actually they seem to have a new volunteer working there and I heard him pricing a small rug in the furniture place at £150 the other week:eek: It was one of those Chinese carved thingies that were very popular about 20 years ago but was absolutely filthy......

I have that diamond cut fancy-looking bundt tin from Lakeland - I bought it in a charity shop just before Christmas for 99p and it didn't look as though it had ever been used. I just checked on the Lakeland site and although that one is now discontinued, it used to sell for over £30 so I am doubly pleased with my bargain.

I think I'll give it a try this weekend, as I have an egg glut from my obliging hens to use up and cake baking would be a good solution :)

The pan in question is below:

Went to Mistral in Ludlow where their £44 trousers were reduced to £10. Then had another £10% off at the till!!

Tops too expensive. Went to charity shop next door and found a Mistral tunic top for £4! The lady suggested I put it in my Mistral bag. :-)
  • I always buy my greetings cards from Charity Shops .
They are much cheaper than most card shops & the money goes to good causes.

Barnardo's cards are usually 89p which I think is good value anyway, but today Barnardo's had lots of cards, gift wrap & gift bags reduced by at least 50%.

They had so many designs at 19p or 39p including Get Well, Thankyou, Sorry, Engagement, Wedding , New Home , Thinking of you.

Lots of blank ones with lovely designs too.
