Found my best bargain for a while on Monday. It's a brand new leather purse by 'Hotter' for just £3 in a local independant CS, very happy as my other one has just given up after a mere 12 years!
Have been talking to MIL about recipes and cooking as she is trying to sort meal plans and lunches for my Sis-I-L who is back living with them while doing teacher training up here. Sis-I-L diet has to be wheat, gluten, soya and dairy free so things are a little restricted. Was happy to find a Coeliac UK recipe book in CS for £1.00 last week which can be adapted to suit and they can all eat.
We've also been talking diet here too and looked at some Paleo books on Amazon last weekend but didn't actually get them ordered, happy to say I got one of them in local CS for £1.50 which has saved about £6 so very pleased (and have decided to check the library for any others when I go in next week so saving a bit more!).0 -
Oh yes, also got an Open All Hours DVD (still sealed) for 30p last week. Love it, has cheered me up today, feeling a bit under the weather!0

Late yesterday afternoon I was in the Community Charity Shop and spotted a gorgeous sculpture in opaque cream frosted glass*, priced at £5. About 18" high and just a large swirly shape sitting on a plain glass plinthy thing. Very dramatic and 'modernist' in style. Although I instantly loved it I just could not think of anywhere in my house that I could show it to advantage so I did not buy it. Kept thinking about it all night tho and eventually, *ping*, 'lightbulb moment' and I could see just where it would fit in nicely. Raced back to the shop this morning hoping it was still there.....and it was! So thrilled with this purchase :j
Other finds today.... a Bench studded canvas belt for £1.Another cream glass vase, from Ikea, but supposed to be handmade, for £1.
* Just done a bit of research and it's Murano glass from Venice and there is one on EBay in another colour, starting price £60.0 -
i was delighted on Saturday. I bought 6 books (mainly jo jo moyes and Diane Chamberlain) a lovely bracelet, a cd and 2 dvds (including a Kevin Bridges Comedy one still in cellophane for £4.96 from our local Banordos !. They have 3 little shops, 1 children's, one normal charity shop and 1 furniture and bits and it was from the bits one I found all these. so pleased they are in perfect condition too. In the "normal" Banardos I bought 2 Dorothy Perkins jumpers for £6.00 which is great as I love them xx:j First prizes back into comping after a break - romantic break to 2 to Venice/ Paris or Rome with romantic trip and a 42 inch TV and blu Ray amazing !
Thank you all so much and good luck guys and girls xxxxxx0 -
I'm feeling very lucky, having found a brand new (tags attached) G Plan recliner in a local hospice shop.
All for the princely sum of £40!!!!
We were even going to go to ikea earlier to get an armchair but my husband decided not to go as he was feeling ill. The £100 odd we saved by not going to ikea will go towards our roof repairs, so all in all, I'm a happy pickle! Plus, its lovely and comfy for giving our 12 week old son his bottles0 -
After a while of buying nothing, I can finally post in here again! I'm having a big sort out at the moment and have got rid of a lot of clothes, so I've become a lot more picky with my CS shopping and am only buying things I really love and could never afford at their original price (although if I see some high street things that I like that are cheap enough then I'll probably still buy them, however all the shops near me seem to want ridiculous amounts for clothes from places like New Look, H&M, Tesco, even Primark).
Went to visit my parents and got to go to my favourite little town that has all the best CS'. The locals there are a lot better off than where I live, so the CS' usually have some good finds!
I got some black suede Hobbs boots in a very good condition for £12. Similar ones are on their website for £169-189.
A Joules gilet for £14.99. On the website for £49.95. I ummed about this for a while, but I don't own a gilet and I've always wanted one so thought I'd take the chance to get a very nice one for a price that I was willing to pay as I'd never pay £50 for it brand new.
A light white cardigan with blue stripes from Banana Republic for £6. Similar ones are on their website for £55-65.

Went visiting my dmat the weekend and went to a well to do area on the north west coast.
Bought an m&s lined linen shift dress for £8.99
And a per una long sleeved top for £4.99.
Had to resist a beautiful long red coat think by pr!cis petit as I already have 2 in black & blue and can only wear so many.
Good job I live too far away or I would have gone back for it I think.0 -
