As I thought....after finding some really nice bargains recently I had a rather unfruitful visit to the hospice chazza today. Just got 2 B/N nail polishes and a bottle of nail hardener, 25p each, (my nails have suddenly decided to grow for some reason:dance:)

BUT....I have started a major wardrobe de-clutter and sent off 3 bin bags of stuff at the week-end :j
  • No recent finds for me, but yesterday I donated 3 bags of cookery books and a Scalextrix to our local RSPCA shop.

No finds lately just been donating instead ;) However DH visited my Aunt over the weekend & came back with a beautiful navy trench coat and an Alexon wrap coat that is gorgeous - wool, mohair & alpaca - soft and snuggly for winter! She said she didn't want to send them to a CS as they were expensive and she wanted them appreciated so I'm the lucky recipient. I've also been asked if I'd like a full length burgundy Italian leather coat - hmm took me all of a nanosecond to say yes please!
    Good hunting everyone x
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Well I am feeling fairly pleased with myself! I really want to start doing more sewing and was contemplating buying myself a sewing machine, but I was worried I'd buy one only to be absolutely useless and give up after a few goes on it!
Well in my local hospice shop I found an old Janome 535 for £15, and an overlocker for £10! Can't remember the make of the overlocker off the top of my head but while looking up the manuals online I found the same one for over £100 second hand on ebay!

I've had a go with the 535 and it seems to be running fine, I think I need to tinker about with the tension and stuff but its all totally new to me so I'll see how it goes! (have not been brave enough to make an attempt with the overlocker - all those threads are a bit intimidating!)

In the next charity shop I found a Jasmine Silk nightshirt for £3.50 (looks brand new, and is still selling on the website for £70 - and that's it on sale!) and an amazing red military style marks and spencer blazer for £6 :)

I bought a lovely 100% cotton Pomodoro dress, fully lined with very lightweight lawn-type material for £4.00 from a hospice shop.

Will be very smart on holiday during the day.

Very similar to this but the tropical flowers on mine go diagonally across the body.

Nothing much to report after today's trip to the hospice chazza sale....just found a cream BHS polo neck sweater on the 50p rail. Looks b/n tho it is acrylic which I am not too keen on but it will look smart till I mangle it in the washer. :o

Clear out continues and I have 2 more bin bags of 'stuff' to send to the Sue Ryder shop.... :)

One and a half yards of pure wool fabric. Brown and blue check. 99p,!
Not my colours but I gave it to a friend who will be turning it into a poncho. She was delighted and tried to pay me but I reckon a good cup of coffee and two pieces of her lovely shortbread more than covered it!

The shops around here are expensive as Chazzers go, I've used Facebook selling site more at the moment, books are still a bargain
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
