I'd take the original back for a refund.. just say it was a gift and isn't the right size, you're well within your consumer rights.

Quick note to apologise for this ^^^ too many nights of zero sleep finally took it's toll, I knew what I meant to say, but ended up typing something completely different & as pointed out, wrong.

    Sorry all. :o

How fascinating, have had a squiz at a few 'folding' videos just now and will have a good read of the thread. Will certainly look out for the book too. Many thanks for the heads up :T

Have decided to keep both coats as it seems somewhat churlish to return a gift and as has been mentioned I'm sure there will be lots of
opportunities in our climate to wear both :)
I don't think it's churlish! But personally I wouldn't keep both if they were so similar, I'd return the gift and donate the £159 to charity (plus gift aid).

This must have been my best week ever for finding nice things in the charity shops.....

Today at the hospice sale....brand new, M & S, black crepe, cocktail-type sheath dress with beaded boat neck and elbow length sleeves. Price tagged for £59...I paid £3 :p. Also, new, Planet, pure silk shirt in a copper colour...£1.50 :). Then found a pretty toilet bag with matching make-up bag, new...£1.50 :p. Also got 2, large, swirly glass items - a vase in pale pink and a pot for a plant in pale green. £1 each. :p
  • You are doing well Miro you have added some lovely items to your wardrobe this week, I find it goes in phases you get lots all at once and then nothing for a while. I am always on the lookout for bargains when I get the time to browse.
  • In our local hospice shop I found a Jacques Vert Occasion/longline jacket in bright pink. Looks brand new, doesn't have tags on but has the spare button attached to the label at the neck. Brand new these are about £160, about £80 in the sale. I got it for £4!

Also got a Racing Green sleeveless khaki coloured blouse for £2.50.

I agree about it being feast or famine...:rotfl:

I'm expecting to find very little now for a while. I'm trying to be more circumspect, (is that the right word?), with my purchases and only go for quality and new, or as new, items but that doesn't always work tho :o

I really must have a good old clear out this week-end to free up some space. I'm seeing a friend in a couple of days who is happy to drop off my donations at a charity shop about 40 miles away from me. It's funny but I hate to see my old stuff on the rails of my local chazzas. Plus I have been known to re-buy my own stuff again by accident! :D
