What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

I haven't been to a chazzer for 3 whole weeks now but this summer have had a lot of use out of blouses brought earlier this year, including for work. The bargain factor doesn't mean that you compromise on quality!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Quite the reverse often. You can find things in c/shops that are top notch "names", and that you probably wouldn't pay full shop price for anyway. Of course you have to rifle through the Atmosphere stuff to find them!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I got an M&S top, was £29 but currently £14 in the sale, for £1 from the local hospice shop.0

Something really odd has happened.......
I called into the Hospice Sale this lunchtime and on the rail of quality clothes I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a seemingly brand new Hobbs trench type raincoat. No tags on it but the little plastic bag with spare buttons was there and the chain hangy-uppy thing at the back of the neck still had its plastic protective cover. Perfect size for me and priced at an unbelievable £15!!! Now, I know that this coat, from the current collection, is priced at £159 in the shop. How do I know this? Cos I was bought the blooming self same coat yesterday as a birthday present!!! How weird is that? I really don't know what to do now.....do I try and take the original coat back for a refund? Do I try and sell one on FleaBay? Do I just thank my lucky stars and keep both, (classic style won't date)?
Oh deary me.......:o0 -
I'd take the original back for a refund.. just say it was a gift and isn't the right size, you're well within your consumer rights.Anchor yourself to the foundations of everything you love.
Thank you to all those who post competitions!:beer:0 -

Actually shops don't have to give a refund for "change of mind", and I doubt saying it was the wrong size would guarantee you a refund either. It's goodwill that places like M&S have a full refund policy, but they are not obliged to.
Where did your gift coat come from Miro? I wonder if whoever gave it to you included the receipt? You either have very generous friends, or if it was a parent or family member you are better placed to ask them if they would mind you returning it.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I was there when the coat was purchased yesterday and tried it on at the time. I suspect the rather snooty staff may remember us as we were in rather muddy walking gear at the timeand they did have a rather po faced attitude to us so I think they might remember! I do have the receipt actually and I'm sure the gift giver would not mind if it was returned. I just dunno on what grounds I could return it......
Actually the chazza sale coat is the shorter version of the gift coat and is a slightly darker colour. It is also a size bigger so I could wear a thick jumper under it. I'm talking myself into keeping it aren't I?0 -
Seems to me that you will get good wear from both coats. Keep them and enjoy your amazing bargain, some things are just meant to be!!Slightly bitter0

Have a look on the back of the receipt to see if there's anything about their returns policy.
But as the coats are not identical I'm sure you'll find different occasions to wear both of them! :beer:I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
