Bargain! :T
As one Woman who came into the shop (where I volunteer) on Sunday said, "I find it hard to go into shops like them (points to DP's over the road) now and pay full price, when you see what you can buy here (new & nearly new stuff) for a fraction of the price! I told her I totally agreed with her and that nearly everything I was wearing that day had come from the shop!
Hope you enjoy your posh do!0 -
A red blouse (George at Asda), a formal waistcoat (South) and a floaty, gold coloured scarf for £5 from Scope in Walsall. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0

My 1st time looking fr CS stuff for ME today!
Usually just look for others
I think a lot of CS's here in Southamptoncharge ridiculous prices and rarely buy things these days.
But today I got:-
Oxfam - burgundy top with black chiffony overlay with gold/glittery flowers embroidered on it. Brand is "seven 7" (no idea if thats a cheapy brand or not) cost £3.99.
M&S white top with 3/4 sleeves £2.99 from AgeUk
Elvi edge to edge jacket in taupe (very unusual colour for me) £2.99 AgeUK
Planet top, casual, stripey, stretchy - good for holiday £3.49 AgeUk
Gok Tu oversized shirt in lovely tealey colour, wanted something that colour for ages!! Still with tags and spare button, original price £25, £2.99 in Age Uk.
Just off to wash them now, but very pleased with my 1st shop for ME0 -
Three good buys today.
Lovely s/s fruit bowl with attached banana tree - £1 at a local Christian cs.
Very good quality hand towel for ds (9) first trip away with school - £1.25 - looks new - and at that price I'm not bothered if it doesn't get home again.
And - drum roll please - five duck feather cushions from John Lewis and 100% silk cushion covers, also from John Lewis, for the princely sum of £5 from our village cs - absolutely delighted with this one. My little house is starting to come together.0 -
I managed to pick up an authentic terramundi money pot (cream with pastel spots) in the Sue Ryder shop for £2.95. I have been looking for one of these for ages, but wasn't willing buy a new one :j:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

so close to making a purchase today but didn't but might have to go back tomorrow. CS had 5 tall, chunky glasses which had Red Lobster written on them. I think, looking at Ebay, they are American. I thought I could use them as mini hurricane lamps with tea lights in for the garden. The reason I didn't is I am not sure the tea lights wouldn't get too hot and break the glass. They have been on the top shelf for a while. I have this theory that if something is still there when you next look, you are meant to have it. I also think I seldom regret what I buy but often regret what I didn't buy.0

Mooching around a YMCA shop today, just about to leave when I spotted what looked like a large camera case, priced £2.99. Out of curiosity I picked it up for a closer look, and it had something inside... a superb personal CD player complete with AM/FM digital radio! I couldn't get it to work in the shop, but at that price thought I'd take a chance, and hey presto a couple of new batteries and it's in full working order
.
Just looked on the internet, and although the make doesn't seem to be available nowadays, similar ones are anything between £39.99 and £100! Even a similar carrying case alone is £5.99.
Don't suppose anyone wants these nowadays as people get all their music and radio on their iPhones, but I am delighted with it anyway.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
