What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Got a Point & Paint from the BHF for only £1.50, never used as well, will be great for when I paint the kitchen and bedroom!
Also from the same shop, I got a coral and cream striped cardi from F&F for £3.50.0 -
Have had some fab bargains from local charity shops this past week.
We're expecting our first child in September and have hardly any money atm, so we went hunting.
One shop had tons of baby and toddler clothes for just 50p each, and another had newborn vests/sleepsuits 3 for £1! So got a few bags of things over the last week from the various shops and it's cost us nothing compared to what new items would have been. We even managed to find a couple of bits new with tags, and some expensive labels like Next, Disney Baby and Pumpkin Patch that hardly look like they've been worn!
We also found a lovely jungle play mat originally from Next for just £1.50 - it's gorgeous and matches perfectly with the baby bouncer my aunt has picked up for us in Asda
My mum found us a car seat that is in great condition for just £5, and a cot bedding set (as in all the padding, etc) for just £1.50! This is one of the bigger spends I was dreading as they start at £35 a set...
Could never have imagined we'd end up with so much fantastic quality stuff in such a short time, very pleased0 -
I'm a very happy bunny today. We (the kinder and I) were due to help out at small boy's school fair, but on the way encountered a church sale where I bought a vintage dress for £2.50. (That 1940s day ^^^ seems to have had an effect on me
!) After the fair we went to a Scout jumble sale and arrived as they were clearing up. We were invited to help ourselves, as they just wanted rid at that stage. The children had crisps/cakes/drinks while I gathered a couple of vintage games (Lotto and Shake Words) a top and a couple of extra cakes
. When I tried to give them some money they looked at me as though I were truly mad. (This always makes me happy, so perhaps I am truly mad.........;))
When we got homeand dropped off the haul I popped out with small child to the chazzers. I picked up a tangram book which has already captivated large child, and have promised to make some upcycled carrier bags from Tshirts for my favourite CS, the manager is beside herself with enthusiasm for them. All in all a bl00dy good dayThey call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
I forgot to mention that I picked up a dish drainer like this
for £1.50 the other day (cost around £14 for a new one), it was a bit grubby so I asked my mum to put it through her dishwasher for me and it's come out really well - going to ask her to put my old one through the wash for me too, now I have a spare.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Not a CS bargain - but a bargain just the same. I have a good local second hand shop that has very reasonable prices so always a fairly quick turnover of stock. Got DS1 a lovely high backed office chair with a lumbar support & gas strut (that worked!) for £15.00 -he's delighted as his old one has seen better days & gives him backache.
Hoping to do our local car booty on Wednesday with a friend & see what garden plants are available.
scarletraven What lovely finds for your baby - I always think that baby only needs to be warm, well fed & loved - he's much too young to be bothered where his clothes and equipment come from so carry on hunting for bargains for himSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Very well said re the baby stuff. I think that's something we all learn after we have the first one and have a cupboard full of carp that we have never used!! And it's absolutely astonishing how much you could spend :eek:0 -

ScarletRaven Your bargains sound great, but I really would recommend getting a brand new car seat. There is no way of knowing what condition it is in and if it has been involved in an accident or if it meets current safety standards.0
