    I overheard a c/shop manager today, when a customer asked if they ever got such-and-such in, replying "well we do, but the car booters are in every day and snap up anything half decent".

    Sad that that happens, spoils it for the genuine bargain hunter. :(

    Wouldn't be able to do it in my area as CS are dearer than some of the clearance shops. Saw a jumper that was quite badly bobbled in Age Concern last week for £5.00 and might have bought it if the condition was a bit better. Went to Matalan Clearance and got a similar jumper in pure cotton for £4.50. At out local car boot the most anyone would get for a jumper would be £2.00.

    Oh Gingernutty To shorten sleeves on jackets & coats just turn them inside out and take a tuck in the lining all the way round the sleeve. When you turn it back the right way the shorter lining will pull the sleeve up (wont work if you have buttons/trim though) Takes 10 minutes :)

    Today I get what I thin is a bargain - a stain glass window kit which was originally sold on qvc. Everything is there including all the sealed paints, stencils and book. I paid £7.99.....

    Kirsty's Homemade Home book for £1 (currently £12.80 on Amazon) and the most fabulous floor lamp for £10 which will look great with the 1970s/modern style of our living room, I hate to think how much it'd have cost from new.

    Over the past couple of days I've picked up (naughty but couldn't resist, always the way eh);

    Hand-knitted scarf in a raspberry/fuchsia colour (obsessed with looking for that colour recently!) - £1.99 YMCA

    Stone tea-light holder with cut out stars all over it - 49p YMCA

    Oversized Topshop checked shirt - £2.99 BHF

    The Body Shop grey sparkly makeup bag - 99p Age Concern

    Very happy with that little lot. :D

    Hmm.. how do you define genuine bargain hunter ? Doesn't everyone go to a CS looking for a bargain ??

    Last week I got a First Edition signed by a famous Hollywood actor for 2.99 which I've seen online for sale for £££ (I WON'T be selling it). Couple of weeks before that I got a Murano bowl reduced to 29.99 - had been 99.99 then 49.99. Won't be selling that either.

    Think that covers it
    :D.

    I got today a lovely 'as new' black leather Laura Ashley hand/shoulder bag, for £1.25. Just what I need as my current bag is on its last legs.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
