I overheard a c/shop manager today, when a customer asked if they ever got such-and-such in, replying "well we do, but the car booters are in every day and snap up anything half decent".

Sad that that happens, spoils it for the genuine bargain hunter. :(
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • I got a lovely M&S moses basket and this stand today for £15

And to top it off, when I took the mattress out it had 2 sheets and a blanket underneath!:j

  • My latest bargains are a lovely chrome hammered metal tall vase for £2.25, Ive been after one for a while ever since I decorated the living room and wanted to make it look more modern, but they had been anything from £15-20 elsewhere! Also got a lovely bunch of artificial flowers in my living room colours (matches perfectly), which look fab in my new vase, they were 75p for 6 big flowers!

Some cropped jeans for about £2.50 and a lovely lightweight chiffon leopard print sleeveless top with ruffles down the front.

We get a lot of people coming in to the shop I volunteer at who buy stuff to sell on on EBay. We had a pair of Jimmy Choo's in the other day (I didn't get to see them, but apparently they were gorgeous!), they were priced at £150 and this guy bought them to sell on....but not before his daughter had worn them for a wedding, even though they were too big for her! He comes in quite often apparently.

I've noticed that a lot in the more affluent towns around here. You know when they've got stacks of clothing with "good" labels in different sizes that they're going onto Fleabay or somesuch.
I tend to give up and move on to another town for a trawl or try and beat them to the next charity shop!
    Normal people worry me.

I got a really pretty vintage look cafetiere for £2.50 enamelled in a pale blue.
    "This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
    Preemie hats - 2.
  • I managed to snaffle a pair of RayBan sunglasses for a £1 on Saturday! They didn't have a price ticket when I spied them, and we compared them to my mate's sunglasses, which are the real deal, and were pretty sure they're genuine.
Off I went to the counter to enquire. "50p? Oh, they're Ray Bans. Is a £1 alright?" Yes, charity shop man, yes it is!
Even if they are knock-offs, they look real enough for a whole £1 spent!

Nothing for me today as I have no cash, & the shops minimum for card payments was £5 but the top I wanted was only £4.

My mum got a brand new fire guard for just £3.50.

She also picked up a lovely Debenhams summer cotton dress in a lovely print, with sequin detailing around the neckline. She wasn't going to try it on, but I said how much is it? As it was marked up at only £6 she tried it on, it looked lovely so she decided to buy it, at the till they said as it the label was marked with a red cross it meant it was half price - so only £3 . :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
