What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

Last week I got youngest DD a blue checked Hollister shirt from Age Concern for £3.45. They also had a red one, but I didn't think she'd wear red.....of course when I got home she wished I'd bought the red too. I haven't been able to get to town all week until yesterday, and couldn't believe it when the shirt was still there.....one happy DD!0

Got this in a charity shop for €2.50 - it had shrunk so it took a lot of TLC to get it in shape again. Also took it to the dressmaker as the lining was so saggy, and she charged me €8!! Its still a bit 'felted' so think I'll snip at it with a scissors soon. Says its knitted from Jaeger handknitted yarn - think its from the 70s, possibly 80s.0

This is a bit different as I wasn't buying but I noticed a Lyle & Scott (with the Eagle logo) waterproof jacket in our local Cat Protection shop priced at £1.50.
Or, as I call it to wind up my designer obsessed friend - Tate & Lyle.
The old guy in there is really nice (and I like cats) so I told him it was a designer item and probably retailed at at least £150 and somebody would probably buy it and sell on ebay so he took it off the rack and put it in the back for repricing.
Next time I went it it had gone.
The MuiMui bag was a great find.0 -

Have to admit I always find Oxfam expensive but £15  I could buy myself something lovely and new for that & have change to spare!
I fear all I'm going to get today is drenched - the rain looks horrid.
Our favourite Katherine House Hospice charity shop was asking for donations yesterday. We give them a lot of stuff and last year they sent us a letter saying they had made 100 pounds plus gift aid. It wont be the same this year though as we are ebaying a lot of the stuff we would have donated. Guess it must be the same everywhere.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0 -

Today I only intended to buy myself a much-needed pair of jeans.
Whoops! :rotfl:- (Cancer Research) GAP bootcut jeans - (half-price: £5 > 2.50)
- (Amnesty) Mabel Lucie Attwell cross-stitch book (half price: £2.50 > 1.25 (but I paid £2 because it's such a fab wee book!))
- (Oxfam) Complete Book of the Flower Fairies - £1.99 (on Amazon for £21!)
- (Oxfam) H&M merino wool jumper - £4.99
- (Oxfam) Ted Baker polka dot skirt - £5.99 (absolutely delighted with this - it's gorgeous!)
- (BHF) Joie knitted hooded cardigan - £3.99
- (BHF) Massimo Dutti dress - £6.99
- (BHF) Red Sfera top - £2.99
I was wondering -- do you prefer it when the clothes in your CS are organised by colour or by item? I used to prefer them by colour, but I've found it's easier now when it's organised by item -- it also stops me from going wild at the "purple" rack!0 -
It was my MS Typo!
I wanted the bag for myself, not to sell too. It seems genuine and not a fake too!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

With the new postage prices for RM, some people may find it makes no sense to list some lower value things on ebay, so people may end up going back to donating to CS (unless they use those bags for cash places)XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0
