What is your charity shop bargain of the week?

All I can say is I hope they get some more stock in Kitty - 'cos I found b***r all!! Oxfam had a nice navy skirt but £15.00 was too steep for me & I didn't really need it. I was quite disappointed. All I ended up getting was some 2lb Loaf Tin liners from Lakeland - full price haha
Ah well, Charity shop shopping seems to have been a bit rubbish over the last 12 months - guess that people just can't afford to give away as much these days. Have to admit I always find Oxfam expensive but £15  I could buy myself something lovely and new for that & have change to spare!
I fear all I'm going to get today is drenched - the rain looks horrid.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
At the risk of incurring wrath amoung you fellow shoppers...
My local charity shop has a 50p rail and a 20p bucket, both worth a good look through.
No other clothes are over £5, saw a black velvet principles jacket on Tuesday for £3 but resisted, as lovely as it was, I daren't go home with another jacket. Instead had a good rummage though the 20p kids bucket and got my nieces a maxi dress and a checked tunic.
However, this charity shop is NOWHERE near the high street, in fact is on a council estate, so maybe that accounts for the prices? Either way, I'm a happy bunny as its on the way to sains bags!0 -
Well I spent a fiver in total today.
A cute travel sewing kit with folding scissors bundled with a travel laundry bag for £1.50 - great stuff as I've been looking for a replacement pair of folding scissors for yonks, but postage on ebay is often the same price as the scissors, or in sewing shops they cost a fortune.
In BHF they had (new) messenger bags made from recycled materials for £1.50 in 2 designs, little Japanese dolls, or skulls. Got the skulls one as it will be great to give my nephew his birthday prezzies in, in a year or 2 (he's too little for it yet).
Lastly I got set of 4 coasters for £2 as they go with my salt & pepper shakers! I saw the first one and it made me think of my mum so I had to have them!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Brilliant finds Kitty I did see the bags in BHF but I'm well endowed with bags at the moment! Dont know where you are but there are quite a few CS in Bognor too although not been there for some time.
Happy Hunting everyone!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Oh my, I am almost hyperventilating with excitement now. Just bought a yellow Boden leather bag. I paid a tenner and I hummed and hawed about it but I've lusted after a Boden bag for years. Its new, with the Boden tissue inside and still in the bag. They are about £100 new and never would have paid that but a tenner....Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0

love the shape of the salt n pepper pots, kitty!
I got 2 pairs of cords for my husband today - £1.50 each & 1 of them was brand new.
And, I bought myself a lovely thin, oilcloth messenger bag for £3.50 - no idea of the make but it's really nice.
I got 10 buttons @10p for a little project & a reel of extra strong thread for 25p.
Very pleased with my haul.0 -
Bought a brand new looking Per Una cord jacket in brown and some toning linen trousers, Per Una again. Needed something nice as being taken out on Mothers day. I am dieting and between sizes so didn't want to buy new. I am happy.0

Stainless steel 3-4 cup teapot for 50p
. I'm always wary of teapots in charity shops as they have often been donated because they drip when pouring, but this one is fine. I buffed it up with some silver polish wadding and it gleams like new now.
Ideal for our afternoon cuppa as we pour one cup each, then top it up with hot water just a little and there's enough for a second cup each. Our morning one is too big, and our little one is okay for just one cup each but no good for more.
Also got two pairs of trousers in OH's size off the £1 rail in Sue Ryder (I was in there donating yet another bag of stuff and didn't intend to buy anything!). One pair is as new, back pocket still stitched up. Other pair is Next and has come up lovely after washing and ironing. At that price I was prepared to take a risk - they'd do him for work in any event - but they are smart enough for everyday, now I've washed them.
To the poster who I overheard in Barnardos Southport (but didn't realise it at the time, until I read on here!) - isn't it a shame that they've had to close it due to the Rates being too dear?I was loving their "all clothes 99p" permanent sale. Managed to get three lovely teeshirts in there the day before they closed last weekend.
I thought charity shops got reduced or nil Rates. The recession is obviously biting even harder these days.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Thanks, I saw them in Asda the other year & thought they were cute (and had to replace my old pair from Woolies - cute chrome cats but the metal had sadly gone funky by the holes).
They do lots of stuff so I will be keeping an eye on the charity shops for any more, so far I've seen a few mugs but I have to avoid mugs as we still have about 20 odd even though I gave away a load!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
