I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

I found a conical jam making sieve for £1 which I dont think had been used as the rubbed off price sticker was still there but the sticker and the sieve were really dirty, it has washed up a treat!

Also got a large piece of various blues retro fabric for a £1 which I want to make into a bag of some sorts and 5m of various biscuit shades retro material for £5. Think I will make some blinds with this but they will have to wait until I have remodelled the sitting room curtain material I bought which is Heals retro in green/ivory (which only cost me £12 for 2 x sets 8' x 8' - still my best bargain ever).

Am not into retro but my latest finds seem to be that way inclined!

I reckon its the not knowing what you are going to find that keeps us on our toes in our fav. shops!:D

I came across this thread a couple of days ago so still reading through all the posts (and loving it!) I've not shopped in charity shops much but intend to start. I just googled CS in my area and an article from the local newspaper came up saying that 3 of the charity shops in the town centre appeared in Vogue magazine as being some of the best in country! Can't wait to go shopping now :)

Oooh I've had a lovely haul today, after a bit of a barren CS spell. :D

    Greyhound Shop

    White Stuff tweed trousers £3.50
Per Una work trousers, black £2.50
Per Una work trousers, grey £2.50
    Next shirt for OH £2.50

    All as new condition

    Marie Curie
    White Stuff orange jumper £3

    Barnardos

Gorgeous teal wool Dickins and Jones skirt £1.99. Reckon it was at least £50 and it is obviously unworn.

I also got a handful of books and DVDs including Bill Bryson 'At Home' for 99p.

But best of all I bought a new pair of work trousers for £23 on Thursday night, so I can take them back and get a refund and still be in profit!:D ( Well, to my logic anyway).
  • This week I got a nice black, just below the knee fitted coat, it's 80% wool - the lining looked unworn, but it had quite a bit of white fluff clinging to it. It was £7, and after five minutes with the lint rolller it looks great! Appears to be brand new now!

someone suggested lisburn road - my friend lives on there, but i've only ever walked the bit where there appear to be no charity shops. that's good advice though. where abouts do you live that there is that many charity shops! thanks though, will avoid city centre so!
i live not far from your friend. if you walk to bottom of Lisburn road you will come to Botanic avenue i lived there most of my life it has lots of cs in and around there but you need to go and plunder up side streets etc hth

  • I'm in desperate need to get some new clothes, I've gained quite a bit of weight in the last few months after hearing I have a medical issue and needing tablets with side effects o weight gain (as if I haven't enough surplus lbs lol) so I think I'm going to hit the cs after reading all your bargains, my 2 pairs of jeans,1 jumper and tshirt and cardigan will have to last till pay day tho!!!

I did have a look last week in a more expensive part of time, I saw a cardigan that was from primark and all washed up for £6.95... I'm guessing the pricer didn't know what make 'atmosphere' was lol
  • Three James Herriot books for 50p each
One Darling Buds of May vintage hardback for £2.00
    Silver large CZ studs £5.00
    Nike Drifit yoga pants £3.00
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

    one life, live it!
