Well I'm closer to the private sector average than the Public sector average then :o

And that's despite being in a Degree qualified job with 20 years experience :o and being only 1 of 2 specialists in my field in Norn Iron.

I know Polish people with PhDs pulling the guts out of chickens for minimum wage and people having graduated law school working as sectaries. Cancer specialists working as classroom assistants.

    What’s your point????

    Lies, damned lies, and statistics...
ONS statistician Jamie Jenkins said the public sector employs more older workers, and has more highly skilled jobs. Nearly 40% of those working in the public sector have a degree or higher education qualification compared with less than a quarter in the private sector. If those employees are compared, public sector staff earned 5.7% less than those in the private sector.
Another factor that has skewed pay in favour of the public sector has been the outsourcing to the private sector over the last decade of the lowest paid jobs, such as hospital cleaning staff and school caterers.

You realise you are quoting The Guardian?

This is not NI specific. Our pay gap is much wider than in England. Our private sector works get paid much less and have to fund many more public sector workers.

What does it matter? There are only two parties in charge of this country.

Are you doing selective answering now :)

I was merely referring to the point that I am closer to the private sector average pay than the public sector. But you seem to tar us all with the same brush :o

Maybe you could set up a Norn Iron Animal Farm revolution of your own, Private Good, Public Bad. Then wonder where the Health Service has gone :rotfl:
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

I'm sorry was there a question somewhere?

I suggest you look up the meaning of average and median.

Animal Farm. Seriously? You really think the wealth consumers should be paid more than the wealth creators. Your "entitlement" attitude comes forth yet again.

Aye right enough farmers, with agriculture being this country's main industry, in this country are always pleading poverty. Thank goodness they are keeping the public sector afloat.

This county's main "industry" is the public sector and benefits. £5 billion pound wage bill and 30%+ of the total workforce. Another 40% are on benefits.

The people who are rightly screaming poverty are the 30% who work for inferior wages but still pay taxes each and every week to fund the people above.

Well you only respond to posts you can have a go at :o when I answered your question with post 42 you didn't come back.

I am quite aware of the meaning of words, I am educated, thank you very much.

I am sorry for my "entitlement" attitude once again and I am eternally grateful for your tax contributions which pay my massive wage and pension, I can only hope you don't retire soon as the country will fall apart without you :rotfl:
