I'm with British Gas and am in the Core Group so automatically qualify for WHD but I want to switch to EON and am worried if I leave BG before the payment date of next February or so that I'll lose my entitlement for this year.
This is is the first time that I've been able to get WHD so I'm not quite sure of the rules when it comes to switching suppliers between the qualifying and payment dates and hence my concern here.
Can anyone clarify please?
Thanks...Colin
British Gas do say you need to be a customer at the time payment is made.Hopefully EON will still allow you to qualify but I don't know if that is guaranteed.0 -
I received my payment this morning from eon to take to post officeseptember wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
march wins - dog treats0 -
If you are in the Core group the money will be paid by whichever supplier you were with on July 21st so you can move. If you are in the Broader group you must still be on supply with the company that assessed you. If you move to another supplier either you may not meet their criteria or they may have allocated all their spaces.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

I have a bit of a dilemma. I have just found out about this scheme and applied (British gas for electric and gas). I was told that I qualify but as I don't have anyone classed as 'vulnerable' living with me I only qualify due to the fact when they looked at my figures I am "fuel poor".
This year I have been wanting to save on my heating costs, however I am concerned that if I cut back too much next year I wont qualify as my fuel bills will be lower (therefore not fuel poor) and I may not have saved as much as the £135 pounds on the energy bills they are going to give me (if that makes sense).
How do I know to check if I meet the criteria of fuel poor next year?0 -
You need to use more than 10% of your household income on Fuel. Ask how much you used this year and then take it from there.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

from CAB:
If you are on a low income
If you are on a low income, it will be up to your supplier to decide whether you can get the Warm Home Discount. You may be eligible if you're on a low income and you have a disability or long-term illness, or children. The actual criteria used will vary depending on your supplier.
Each supplier has their own rules about who else can get the discount. You should check with your supplier to see if you can get it.0 -
Not sure if it has been asked before - but can you receive more than 1 per household? Me and my partner are jointly claiming income related esa so just wondering....with scottish hydro electric
