    Woohoo!

Scottish Power have just opened their applications, and I submitted the form within one minute (looking at the reference number given by notification e-mail afterwards, I think I'm applicant number 80)

Go here and scroll down to the 'Apply for Warm Home Discount' orange button: http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/support-centre/service-and-standards/support/warm-home-discount

    Good luck folks! :D

Thanks for the link. Have been on my hols so not been able to make my daily check (or twice daily or .....) on the SP website to see if it had opened.

At least the weather's warm for running around in your pants ;)

Now you just need to wait a year for the money ! :rotfl:
  • Can I just do little hijacking of this thread and ask what happens if you change suppliers after the qualifying date for WHD...do you lose it or do you reapply to the new supplier?

I'm with British Gas and am in the Core Group so automatically qualify for WHD but I want to switch to EON and am worried if I leave BG before the payment date of next February or so that I'll lose my entitlement for this year.

This is is the first time that I've been able to get WHD so I'm not quite sure of the rules when it comes to switching suppliers between the qualifying and payment dates and hence my concern here.

    Can anyone clarify please?

    Thanks...Colin
  • i think if you are in the core group you should be ok,but i would check with your chosen "new"supplier

    when does this get paid?

I may be moving as a couple of months. There is a key meter with EDF but want that out and return to my usual supplier. They said they will remove meters , for a charge!! Southern electric. I do not want to miss the WDG as I am entitled to it.

i recently moved just 2 doors along the same street and also had the issue of a key meter in the same property.
scottish power wanted to charge me to change the meter and also wanted me to wait 5 weeks for them to do so.
i am blind and obviously struggle with a pre payment meter. once i explained, not only was the meter replaced free of charge, but it was changed wothin an hour of my request!
    as to the WHD.
i think there may be an issue there, but it would be best to speak to your supplier and get it all in writing.
i had to close my account on the old property and open a new one for the new property .... they didnt just carry it over.
