Apparently its taking longer than expected to thaw out the dedicated WH team from cold storage.
I did phone them up last week and was told to 'look again' at the end of June:o
One change in the criteria is the one regarding Exemption from Prescription Charges, this will only qualify if it is a Medical Exemption for customers in England as those in Wales and Scotland get 'em free anyway:pYorkshire_Pud wrote: »It's Friday 28th June 2013 and Scottish Powers own website still has the 'opening for applications in June' message.
i.e. it's still not open. It's still June. So its July?:(
Who told you about the change in criteria ?0 -
It's shameful that there's a very quiet Scottish Power rep on the thread too.All you need is love (and chocolate)0

Yes, they're stringing it out & pushing it to the wire.
Who told you about the change in criteria ?
I phoned them a couple of weeks ago and I've just now phoned again and the operator said they thought it was going live today but hasn't happened yet, it MAY happen tomorrow because there are some business hours on a Saturday and failing that check again on Monday, July 1st:D
Basically the dedicated team are waiting to be told but obviously SP managers haven't deigned to tell their own team any information to help as regards start date!
Pretty shabby of the management.
Other facts gleaned, last year SP exceeded their govt. requirement granting 52,000 customers the WHD, this year they are sticking to a maximum of the first 38,000 qualifying applicants in the Broader Group, ie those without automatic entitlement so get your application in ASAP although she reckoned it would still take several months but as people are now more aware of the scheme will fill up quicker than last year.
NB the 38,000 figure is a percentage of their total customer base and in these meany times their largesse of last year has evaporated.
Hope this helps and I haven't shot myself in the foot but sharing is caring and I will be checking every day into July, ......August......Sept so I get my application in sharpish!0 -
Scottish Power have updated their WHD page stating from JULY 8th customers can apply for the discount.
If only they could be so tardy and unfocused about their Tariff Increases;)0 -

They probably realise they are going to have a riot and many complaints as they change the qualifying conditions to save money and need an extra week to sort out the mess.
Think its only the Not having to pay for Prescriptions qualifier that's changed because as they pointed out every customer in Scotland and Wales met that condition because there's no charge so it will be changed to having a Medical or other qualifying reason for exemption to satisfy that qualifier!
Operator couldn't identify any other change but said 'you never know' and indeed we don't.....until the 8th......unless.......unless.......
May be worth mentioning the need to be a actual SP customer on 20th July 2013 as that's the qualifying date in order to have an application considered.0 -
