Where did you go on honeymoon?

My Wife has a fear of flying so we tend to use other means for travel. Due to this fact we went on a 14 night cruise around the med for our honeymoon with P&O on the Oceana. The ship was a little outdated but the service and whole experience was superb. We enjoyed it so much we booked another one for our 1st year anniversary - again around the med - albeit a different itinerary and only for 7 nights - this time on the Venture which was a much larger more modern ship and again we had a fantastic time. We got a 5% members discount on the second cruise and received a lovely welcome pack on our arrival as special repeat guests

We lived in Melbourne and Sydney for 5 years and got married in Queensland, Magnetic Island on the beach and had our honeymoon in Tasmania (Victoria - Australia) before moving back to England. And we had a church wedding in Dubrovnik, Croatia where I'm from.0

Had planned to go Egypt.
LO arrived and was 3 months old when we married so went Wales for a week.
We'll do Egypt for an anniversary when LO is bigger.Sealed Pot Challenge 2011 #11480 -

So anyway, where did you go / what did you do for yours?
We did the roadtrip. California, Arizona and Nevada. Route66, Grand Canyon, Vegas (glad we went but doubt we will go back), Death Valley, San Francisco, Pacific Highway, Los Angeles, Universal Studios etc.

A few days close to Edinburgh in our VW campervan. Nice and cosy

Italy. A very personal holiday that my DH planned himself to include many things we both love. He got a lifetime of brownie points for booking the Orient Express!
Do the best you can afford. You only get one honeymoon and it'll provide special memories for ever whether that be on a beach in bognor or 5* long haul.0 -
My ex and I spent our honeymoon travelling around Russia. An incredible experience but not a place to travel easily with young kids.Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them ~ Albert Einstein0

We got married whilst we were away travelling so we were on 'honeymoon' I guess you would call it, when we got married in Hawaii.
My parents lived in the US for my Dads work when I was about 6 months old, and when he had some time off they did a road trip, with me in the back ( in the days with no car seats - I was just in a baby cot on the back seat!) around San Fran, Death Valley, Grand Canyon etc. Theyve got some great pics. Definitely doable with a baby. And babies are easier on the plane than a roaming toddler!
But if you did want to go somewhere closer, Greece is good, as theyre great with kids there. Kefalonia is a really beautiful island.0 -
OH works for the railways so we did a rail trip for free. We went to Nice, Florence, Lake Como, Interlaken and Paris. It was OK but a bit budget and the weather wans't the best.
2 years later we went to Zimbabwe as a kind of 2nd honeymoon and it was fantastic. We have subsequently done the California / Nevada / COlorado road trip with kids but they were older than yours.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Australia, four weeks touring in a campervan from Sydney to Brisbane, and then on to Fiji... truly the most beautiful place we have ever been to. Think desert island, nothing to do all day but eat, drink, sunbathe, snorkel... Yes it costs money, but the memories you will take home with you will last a lifetime.:j0
