I fancy Italy for mine. We will have kids too.

I have been to the maldives, loved it but I wouldn't take children there. Not many places to walk to, explore or see. My OH is a sightseer, so we go to places where we can have a day at the hotel by the pool or beach, then a day doing something, especially with children. We have done the above in Turkey, Rhodes, Benalmadena and Portugal.

Definitely wouldn't want to go long haul with a child/baby in tow! Same for a road trip. Nightmare!

I went to Northern Cyprus for the first honeymoon, Madeira for the 2nd (married twice). Both hilly so wouldn't really recommend with a pushchair.

Definitely think Turkey or Greece would be a lovely option, and they do seem to love kids over there.

We did a road trip around California. It was amazing!! We did spend quite a bit of money (all budgeted for) but it was worth it as, now we are expecting a baby, I don't think we'll be able to do a trip like that again for a long time!!

Didn't have one - didn't have the spare cash, and then any money from wedding presents ended up being used for a house deposit. Hubby doesn't like the heat anyway and neither do I particularly.

Friends are going canal narrowboating for theirs which I think is quite cool.

Didn't do it as a honeymoon destination but have done it several times and with baby in tow...how about Barbados...?
Our honeymoon destination was Jamaica...which I wouldn't do with a small baby...but Barbados was our first family holiday when baby was 10 months old!

Long haul is really easy with babies...they settle and acclimatise far better than you think...theres very good pure water in Barbados,so no drinking the water issues...yes it can be warm but nothing a sun umbrella and factor 50 wont take care of...theres still an element of being able to get reasonable and cheap nappies so no need to fill your suitcases with them when you pack...the beaches are good and not overly crowded....and the bajans love children.

Ive also travelled to the maldivies...by that time child was a little older and at the age where the snorkling became interesting for him...I would say that with a small baby maybe the maldives is not the best option as there really isnt a lot to keep them entertained...

Also ive done the american road trip...again I wouldnt do it with one so young...you do see lots but there is a lot of driving involved, which your child will sleep through...and then because they are getting the sleep they need during the day ,they wont sleep at night...mine didnt...so it made for 2 cranky parents during the day too!

Italy can be nice too and the people love "bella babies"...although check where you go has a beach and not just a collection of shingle or pebbles...
Portgual...you can get some lovely self catering apartments, and its not too far removed from "home"...but hopefully warmer.

Also worth considering somewhere like Dubai...in september its hot but not as bad as mid summer and because its hot most of the year people are geared up with air con etc to cope with the heat...many of the hotels have great facilities for children and theres also the oppurtunity to do evening desert safaris when its a lot cooler

Im sure you'll have a wonderful honeymoon wherever you decide to go...enjoy it...

What will you need it for? Most people these days live together before marriage - and I don't know many people who've dived into baby making on the wedding night...

I did 3 weeks travelling around Florida for mine, before flying up to NYC for a week. Was an *excellent* start to married life :)

You are obviously very fortunate to be able to take four weeks off at one go.:)

People must do as they see fit, obviously. It's only my opinion and it happens to differ from yours.:)

We went to Bulgaria. As it so cheap, we could afford a 5* hotel for 11 nights for the price of a 3* hotel for a week in most other tourist countries (or less). Where you go all depends on your budget I suppose.

8 days in Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife.

We decided that since we had already lived together that the wedding should be limited to a registry office service and evening party (wife still had the white dress and vintage Rolls Royce though). The money saved and a contribution from FIL (he insisted on the tradition) went on the holiday.
