OP - when women are broody they do have a tendancy to 'symptom spot' and convince themselves that they are pregnant. The mind can play terrible tricks on us.

By the way (and don't take this the wrong way) given that you posted a thread at the beginning of the month asking how late into pregnancy it is safe to drive for, why did you not mention the fact that you think you could be pregnant to your GP today?

Because my partner had convienced me that 'it was all in my head' so I thought I was being stupid. Since this morning I still like I've got a water balloon in me!!

Go get 2 tests, do them now and see what they say, there's no point us lot umming and arring over it! We don't know your body so just take the test and then you can prove your OH right or wrong! Good luck! xxx

    Apology accepted.

I'll buy 2 tests, if they both read negative shall I forget about the possibility of being pregnant then?

With my first child I had a positive test from the off.

I'd probably test again a week later if I hadn't got my period. Depends how long your cycles usually are. I'm guessing that implanon can play havoc with your periods, as can being depressed, as can anti-depressants, as can being overweight (even if you're not! ;)).

You could always try asking on the Trying to Conceive thread. There's nothing those ladies don't know about pregnancy testing!

My periods (?!) on the implanon are every 3-4 weeks and last heavy for a week. My last one was 13th-20th of February which was very heavy. I did have some pickish discharge a couple of weeks ago and thought I was starting period again, but then nothing came of it.

I thought the test can only be done in the first morning sample.

Having been on implanon, my cycles varied from 20 days to 130 days....

In your situation i'd get a digital, with a clear yes/no in either way. You do not want to be interpretting lines and wondering if an evap line is a positive or negative etc. A digital test will do the trick and another one after a week as Fluffnutter says to make sure.
And if it is positive you can show your other half in words and there really is no denying it then

Pregnancy tests can be done at any time of day, the morning is suggested merely because it will most likely have a higher concentration of urine (and therefore hcg) and you have been asleep and not been to the toilet for hours. If you can hold your pee for 2-3 hours and not drink excessively in the mean time this would be just as good, and if you were more than 5 weeks or so then it should show easily without waiting too long for it to build up.

I'd do one this week, one in a week and make an appointment with my GP to discuss alternative contraception. In the meantime no $ex without protection.

FMU (first morning urine) gives the most accurate result if you're testing early. If you're past the date that your period is due (although sometimes you won't know this), you can use wee from any time of the day.

BTW, it's not that it's early morning that's important. It's that it's concentrated. If you've not drank much all day, and not been for a wee for hours, you could test with that and it would be just as accurate.

Totally agree. The OP's taking anti-depressants. She really shouldn't be trying to get pregnant (not that she is, of course).

Ok boss. I've only just began to enjoy a sex life again after a year or so..... :(

And I take it the implanon isn't classed as protection - joking
