I dont want to get 'accidentally' pregnant. Would you say 17 stone is very overweight? Can the implanon impact a pregnany test result? I'll get a test tonight and do it tomorrow morning.

Sorry for not asking the right question. Its strange as everyone is like do you feel better for loosing 4 stone, and I'm like no, not really!!
Probably because you are still chronically obese.
You need to lose another 3 1/2 stone to even hit the "overweight" boundary.
If you are looking to have a baby, you need to start thinking about losing that before you try if you care about a. your own health b. the health/wellbeing of the baby."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I reckon if you had to wear one of those body suits you can put weights in and carry an extra 4 stone around for a day you'd really feel the difference then.
When it comes off gradually it can be hard to see or feel the benefit but you've done yourself a great favour there by losing that much.
As to whether the weight could have affected the implant I really don't know, but looking at the info it does seem that it could be a possibility.
A pg test is your first step, then take it from there.0 -
I was about 16 stone when I had my son and everything went fine. I was not advised otherwise. When I was 13 stone I looked ill as I'm quite stocky and broad.0

I would say 17 stone is very overweight for someone who is 5ft 6". I am the same height as you and I am 10st 5lbs and this is nearer the top end of the "ideal" weight band for my height.
I cannot help you on the rest of your questions, sorry.0 -
When I was 21 stone I went to slimming world but wasnt sure if I needed to be there0

I did not get an information leaflet and was about 16 stones (around) at the time that I had the implanon in. I was told that it would last 3 years. I had it in at a family planning centre.
I also had my implant inserted in 2009 (July, as it happens). At my first appointment I was given a prescription for the implant, which I had to pick up from the chemist. About a week afterwards I returned to have it inserted and the doctor ran through the information leaflet (which was in the box I collected from the chemist) with me.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
