a lot of the symptoms you describe have been attributed to implanon... especially the depression. I had one put in when my youngest was 6mths, and i lasted 7 weeks before i was at the GP demanding it was removed for the sake of my sanity. Before the implant i had been breastfeeding my son, lost all my baby weight, and was feeling absolutely glowing, the only minor worry being falling pregnant again hence why we opted for the implant. within day i felt down, unable to cope, anxious, teary. i began putting weight on again, and just felt like i was slowly unravelling. i had to fight my gp to take it out, eventually the nurse did it, and told me on the QT that so many women were reporting depression after having it inserted, but GP's are keeping it quiet as they dont want women turning up with 'accidents'.0

Hmm, denial is a wonderful thing! To get a BMI of under 25 (i.e. to be healthy) at your age, weight and gender you'd have to be getting on for 7 ft tall.
I'm guessing you're not actually that tall, so I'm hazarding that you're overweight at 17 stone and even more so at 21!
But we digress. I thought this was about whether or not you could be pregnant, not whether you're overweight or not!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
It is whether or not I am pregnant, but this is connected to being overweight due to the implanon. I have lost 4 stones!! I will pick a test up tonight and do it in the morning. Will post then.
at 21 stone I got around fine, walked, swam, took dog for walks.0 -
When I had my implant put in, I was told that if I was obese (or became obese) the implant would become less effective in the third year so I would need to have it replaced before the three years was up.
This is the information leaflet that came with implanon (or you can google nexplanon, which is the newer version that works in the same way)

I know. But you asked 'do you think I'm overweight at 17 stone?'. You didn't ask 'do you think 17 stone is overweight enough to mean that my implanon's stopped working?' (although that's what I assumed you meant).
The outcome is that most people have just said 'yes, probably'. What they haven't answered, because a) they didn't realise that's what you were asking and b) they wouldn't know anyway, is whether or not your implant has failed!
Well done for losing the weight btw, and let us know how you get on tomorrow when you take the test."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I did not get an information leaflet and was about 16 stones (around) at the time that I had the implanon in. I was told that it would last 3 years. I had it in at a family planning centre.0

Sorry for not asking the right question. Its strange as everyone is like do you feel better for loosing 4 stone, and I'm like no, not really!!0 -

Do you feel worse?
Perhaps there's just not enough difference between 17 and 21 for you to notice. Your body does though, even if you don't."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
