    When I was 21 stone I went to slimming world but wasnt sure if I needed to be there

    If this is a serious comment I would be interested to know your reasoning for not being sure if you needed to be there?

    I had the implanon in in Scotland in the family planning centre. I had an appointment to discuss the options which lastest about 15 mins. I was given this amongest others

    I went for the implanon. I was given a week to decide for sure. After the week was up I went into the centre and the nurse said are you sure on the implanon and I said yes. I had it put in and got no further information.

    When I was 13 stone I looked ill as I'm quite stocky and broad.

    You'd have to be very tall to look "ill" at 13 stone.

    :eek::D:eek::D:eek:

    Assuming you're not trolling, you obviously have a grossly distorted image of your own body. 21 stone is a disgusting weight for anyone to be.

    No joke, I was active, walking, swimming, I thought I was about 16 stone but hadnt weighed myself in 2-3 years. At 17 stone I am now a dress size 18. I was a 24 and thought nothing of it.

    I am 5'7'' and 13 and a bit stone (not proud!) I am overweight, I was 14 stone at one point, which is obese so yes you are very overweight, however if you got the implant thingy when you were big your GP/Nurse should have told you the risks. The pill can fail if you're overweight as can the jab... so yeah it's best not to be too overweight and not use condoms if you don't want to get pregnant.

    xxx

    As for being 5'7'' and 13 stone I AM FAT! I am overweight and doing something about it... not being mean but 21 stone is really not healthy and 17 stone is better but still not great! xxx

    But 16 stone would still be overweight for your height.

    I do agree that it's not all about weight, and that you can be the 'right' weight and not at all healthy. But surely you can see that being overweight is not good for you?

    Aah, this explains it all. They calculate weight differently in Scotlandshire. What constitutes 'obese' in England is classed as 'underweight' north of the border. Something to do with needing extra body fat to cope with the rubbish weather and the fact that it's always dark.

    It's no wonder you're confused!

    fluffnutter, there is no need to be rude.

    I was shocked to find out I was 21 stone and hence why I have lost weight. I had no idea until a few days ago that being overweight could affect the implanon. The http://www.fpa.org.uk/media/uploads/helpandadvice/contraception-booklets/contraceptive-implant-your-guide.pdf leaflet I was given mentions nothing. Look if you dont believe it. I was told I was protected for 3 years and that was that.

    I'm 5ft6 and 10 stone and healthy. At one point you were double my weight. Yes, 21 stone is incredibly overweight. 17 stone isn't exactly slender either, that is more than my 6ft1 husband and he is a lot overweight.

    A pregnancy test or a visit to the doctors is the only thing anyone can advise.
