what to buy my bride as a wedding present?

I think I missed out big time.
Not only did I not get a pressie from the OH on our wedding day but I didn't get a pressie when Junior was born either.
He doesn't do valentines day either (but come to think of it I don't do hallmark day either)
Should I trade him in, and have a new baby so I can get all these pressies?2014 Target;

I got married last June and had the same problem.... I decided on a photo scrapbook and trawled her's and friends facebook pages and old album folders for pics of our holidays, days out, experiences together and complied it in a nice artist's sketchbook. Cost me about £40 all in + a good few man hours whenever she went out but she loves it and i'd left a good half of the book empty so we can carry on adding as we go!0

I really can't see the need to be buying wedding gifts for each other. Surely the point is that the real gift is you lifetime commitment of yourselves to each other?0

Exactly.
When did all this start? We got married in 2008 and, despite Mrs G having every wedding mag and book in print (or so it seemed,) we certainly weren't aware of it then.0 -
I got my husband a few things
1 - a pocket watch engraved - looked great with his suit and knew it was something he would love.
2 - Socks that say don't get cold feet
3 - A pink of Guiness and a groom tankard for dutch courage!Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

There is no need....but because you're giving someone a "real gift", doesn't mean you can't give them something else as well.
Personally, I like presents and I like giving presents...if getting married isn't an excuse to treat your OH, I don't know what is...0 -
I bought my hubby some cufflinks which he needed for his shirt anyway.
And he bought me a necklace on honeymoon - we have a tradition of buying jewelry or something special which is unique to the locations of holidays..... As we were going to Sri Lanka on honeymoon a Celyon Sapphire was too good a chance to miss!
This has now become very special to me, and I got a matching stone in an eternity ring after the birth of our first child.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -
as it says on the tin...what to buy her? she apparently is going "all out" for me...did ask if it was a new bike but sadly no...any good or novel ideas, do think it needs to be something too keep, cheers
This risks her getting upset on the day - she's buying you something special and if your present back doesn't match in money or thoughtfulness, how bad is she going to feel?
I think I'd be pleading with her Mum or a sister or a bridesmaid to give you a clue or suggest a present so that you don't upset her.0 -
My OH and I didn't buy each other anything. We were too broke. Just having each other and that special day was enough.0

Much as I love my darling husband, I would NOT want tasteful (or otherwise) nude photos of him! Also I can hardly display them around the house can I! So they'd be shoved in a drawer, a waste of money.
I bought my husband a limited edition watch he wears most days. He bought me a bracelet (which I pointed him in the direction of).Make £2025 in 2025
