what to buy my bride as a wedding present?

If you are going to buy something then definately make sure that it is something personal.
I went for a boudoir photoshoot (tastefully done, might I add) and got a small album made up for his eyes only, that way when Im old, grey and wrinkly he can always have a reminder of just how good he has got it! :rotfl:
He bought me pearl jewellery, that I will eventually pass down to our daughter on her wedding day and hopefully she will do the same.
I don't think presents on the day are necessary, each to their own. I do think that weddings these days are so expensive, we didn't even spend close to the cost of the 'average' wedding these days.0 -
I bought the wife a solitaire diamond pendant and matching stud earrings, all with diamonds that match her engagement ring. Sadly, they were overshadowed somewhat by the gorgeous lady wearing them on the day - but they look great when she's worn them since.
I also gave her a (long) poem chronicling our time together.
She gave me an engraved watch, which I just love.
I don't think that gifts are particularly important to the wedding day and I know they're just another thing to add to the cost, but if you can afford them, I think they're nice to have as a keepsake / heirloom or just as a little reminder of a wonderful day.0 -
My DH bought me an item we had put on our wedding list which he knew no-one had purchased, but he knew I really wanted.
It was a fancy, expensive, french made casserole dish!
I love it, and use it loads, and it reminds me of my wedding.
So it doesn't have to be fancy, its the meaning that's most important.
Also, on our first anniversary, he bought me a bouquet of flowers which was the same as my wedding bouquet. He'd kept all the details of the types of flowers and stuff. Much cheaper than if bought as a wedding bouquet but again a lovely thought.
Other things he has bought for various gifts which I love are a blanket, and a framed map of the London Underground. (have had other gifts too, they aren't all wierd!)
I love them all because they are things I wanted, and they came from him.
Hope you have a great wedding day - wish you lots of luck.0 -
My husband bought me a multicoloured stone bracelet which I wore on our wedding day. I bought him a very expensive watch he'd always wanted off ebay. He wears it almost every day that he's not going somewhere where he might lose or damage it.

When we got married I got a wedding ring and I gave my husband a wedding ring.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
what about something for the honeymoon?
Better, what if you got her a new bike? And teach her how to ride it if she doesnt know already? Dont know many things that make a happier relationship than long road trips where you arent forced to make conversationMortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

I didn't buy my DH anything and didn't get anything from him. I wasn't aware people should be getting each other presents when they get married.
Just asked hubby and he never heard about it either. How odd...0 -
I bought my H a personalised monolopy. It was about 80 pounds but I got to personalised all the streets.
All the railway stations were local bars were have had where we have lived, the purple ones (at the end, been that long since I played the normal board I cant remember what they are!) were our honeymoon destinations.
It was fab and still in use many years later.

I'd choose to have a star named after her in her new name or how about Mr and Mrs Stars.
Somebody did it for a 50th present and it went down really well. dont know where you get them from but try googling it."A savoury muffin?? As if life wasn't disappointing enough!" Miranda0
