    Afternoon everyone :hello:

kyle - I love the hair! Very "sassy"!

    taplady - (((hugs)))

Oooh, I will have to look back on yesterday's thread for a picture of Gingham's precious little boy. I wasn't able to get on MSE yesterday, so I've got a big catch-up to do today! We actually learnt that one of my PGCE friends has just given birthday to a baby James too!

It was late night shopping in the wonderful world of Peterborough last night, so DH and I went to buy some bits and pieces for his new niece. We hadn't found anything that we liked (they all ready had plenty of "generic" bits from their first child), so we got a couple of lovely dresses for the summer. Because I'd got a voucher to get 750 Nectar points at Brewers' Fayre, we popped there for supper. We were so disappointed. The only positive thing about the experience was that we didn't have to do our own washing up. :( The "boy" serving, was more interested in talking to and dealing with his friends (who came in after us and got their food alot more quickly). The supervisor and manager didn't seem to really care when we complained. :(

Tomorrow is the big viewing of our house. I wonder whether it'll get sold. No doubt we will find out when the "Sold STC" goes up . There are a couple of houses that are up to rent on Rightmove that we would be interested in, but we're not going to do anything until we find out whether a) it has sold to a first time buyer or b) it has sold but the people want to continue letting it to us. We'll see.

I had an exhausting day in a school today. The school had interviews going on for a new class teacher, so I was being incredibly nosey and asked them loads of questions :D. I just feel completely inadequate when I meet all these wonderful people who seem to "zing" along. :( I've lost my "zing" and I need it back!

Off to find my "zing" now........... Probably at the bottom of a cuppa. ;)

    Vicky

    Crikey Sahmx5,
That sounds awful-can I ask how old he is ?

    He's 12.
  • SAHM x 5 - how about taking some pics of the bruises - they might be gone, or not look quite so bad, by Monday.

I'd be livid if that happened to my 12yo.

DH calls it checking his eyelids for pin holes. :D

He hasn't found any yet, but feels he has to check on a regular basis! :D

  • SAHMx5 - I agree with Penny - some photos would be a good idea - and definitely stand up to the head. Big sympathy as ds1 has been having trouble with a boy in his class - our school have so far been fairly sup[portive - but I'm reserving dh as the final weapon

sahmx5 - definitely do all of the above. It is ridiculous that the other boy seems to be getting away with it, with your son being seen as the scape goat. What I suggest you do this weekend, is write all your points down again and take them with you on Monday. Then you won't miss anything out, especially if you feel that you're getting too emotional. (which I would do if it were me)

  • My eldest is 7 so won't understand how it feels to have one thats 12 but it must be hard at that age. They are expected to grow up so quickly when they reach high school and fend for themselves but are still so young. They can't possibly make the best decisions when they have such a small amount of life experience blimey I still get it wrong ! I know they have to learn from their mistakes but the school has to accept responsibilties while the kids are in their care. It is not acceptable for a child to come home covered in bruises-if it happened to an adult it would be GBH. Be strong. and good luck.

Thank you everyone for your support and advice. I will definitely write it all down as I am the proverbial lioness protecting her cubs! I get emotional and sidetracked easily. I have rung the school and have an appointment with the head of year on Tuesday morning at 8.15. Don't know how the other kids are going to get to school.

Digging a little deeper it happened while they were waiting for the music room to be opened. The teacher was 15 minutes late. I feel even more annoyed now. If they blinking teacher had been there it wouldn't have happened.

SAHMx5 make that appointment with the head, if you get no sense take it further, that isn't on, if needs be why not call the school and explain the others need to go to school, could someone watch them while you have your chat (if that's the only time he can see you, hope he didn't make it that time to put you off) hope you get it sorted.
loobyloo80 hope things are sorted soon, sounds like you are havng a stressful time
Kaz, take all the time you need, we'll still be here when you come back, hope the blue time passes soon

Wish I could do some searching for pinholes tonight, but DP is at work so have the boys to get ready for bath/bed and try to settle. My Dad came over earlier with a little present for them both which included a mug and cocoa so they are sat supping that as a nighttime drink, I can see him starting something here as they love it.
One day I might be more organised...........
