Hi All
Still a bit tight chested and not feeling very sociable. DS is home for the weekend from Uni, brought some washing, so advised him were the WM and TD are (he is well capable) I taught him how to use them when he was 14 (Awful Mum but he was on school hols and I was working FT).
Great hairdo Kyle - Peem very attentive, I missed it at first!
Blairweech Something must have been wrong if you were talking to the old BF! Could it be that is it is decide what(who) you really want? ((hugs)) anyway as it is never easy.
Taplady Kids!! ((hugs))
KatieKoo Your two look smashing, (u2 of course), bet the lads are a bundle of mischief which is what they should be.
P-P I found my cleaner/s via someone who does the visiting the elderly each morning checking they are OK, they often have private cleaners, as they work out cheaper than the ones the council provide (better to). Without being awful I have found the ones who really need the work (money) are the best, but you do have to be a little flexible with them, sometimes they have to switch their day, sometimes work longer one week and shorter the next. When their financial need was great mine even came in when I was on holiday and cleaned out cupboards. etc., it helps them so they know they have the money regularly. The other tip is if they miss a week, do the bare minimum and they realise that they have to recover from missing time,
(especially ironing!!) I know I am awful.
I promised shorter posts today, so will say bye for now!

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I haven't posted on here for ages, I've been a bit rubbish with various health issues in addition to my usual probs and I haven't been able to type.
Anyway I'm feeling quite pleased with myself this week because I've managed to spring clean the spare bedroom. It only took me 3 days!! It gets a bit messy in there because the dog likes to occupy the spare bed, he just opens the door and walks in and then proceeds to drop hairs everywhere. We live in a bungalow so I can't keep him out very easily. Anyway it's sparkling now, I washed all the white furniture with vinegar and Stardrops and I even washed the walls. I stuck a microfibre cloth on one of those mop things and just wiped it over everywhere. Got rid of three cobwebs!
I love the pictures of the boys and baby James looks good enough to eat. I want to be a granny but nobodys obliging.
Penny-Pincher, sorry you're having a bad time with your cleaner. Nels idea about the tick boxes is great. I would also specify what products and cloths they should use. I'm sure you will soon lick them into shape, you're a very strong lady.
Congratulations and commiserations as appropriate to everyone else and hugs if you want/need them.
Have a great weekend.0 -
Evening all, been shopping, raided the Tesco 10p bargains (stuff they had for £1 all reduced) for the kids Easter Fayre, got some little girly thing for tombola etc. Still have to find somewhere to put it until Monday
Being Friday it means I have survived half term week :T and still have my hair.
Nothing much tonight, going to make some jam tarts with the excess jam I made  too much for the jars I had. Housework to catch up on. Bath and hopefully early to bed for the boys as we are out tomorrow and I need to do some studying tonight. Saying that heads starting to hurt already just thinking about studying
katiekoo lovely photos, sounds like the other children have kept you busy to say the least, my kids enjoy electronic stuff but I limit it, tantrums or not, must be much harder when it's not your own and disrupting everyone else.
Moggins good luck
Taplady, thinking of you all, hope he doesn't take it too badly. One day I might be more organised...........

Rats!!! I tried to keep track as I read through and then the bottom fell out of my memory!
Katiekoo - those picks are lovely, and don't worry about remembering names - I used to call everyone alsorts when I first joined:o
PP - No one will ever manage to clean to your own standards, and TBH I think most of us on here would have to admit that none of us can clean to our own standards, let alone be happy with someone else's if we HAD to rely on them. ((hugs)) to you as it seems it is really upsetting you, and I can imagine why.
MimiF - I bet your son was chuffed at preparing that salad! Did you let him loose with a knife? (Supervised 'loose' of course
) I find it a great way to bribe DS to eat something 'new'.... I tell him if he likes it he can help to make it next time, lol. Worked on him the first time he tried chick peas.... Did you find the recipie search I mentioned yesterday (I think it was late on the daily)
I must get myself back into some sort of routine. I've done virtually nothing today because I'm so blue. Tons of things needing doing, but I'm distracted by things that have been 'bugging' me (like the two bits and bobs drawers that had to be organised today instead of doing homework). I might just need to impose a 'ban' on my posting until I get myself back on track, so don't worry if I 'disappear' for a wee while again. Normal service will be 'naturally' resumed as soon as the sun starts to shine on a regular basis again.
Right, no time for homework, I need to tackle tea.
Hugs to all,(and am collecting lots in return if anyone has any spare
)

We need to get PP running the cleaning corp of the NHS, MRSA et al wouldn't stand a chance LOL

Attention, Attention! The cousins have left the building!:j :j :j
I forced the relectant one out of the house this afternoon and made him get muddy down on our mud-flats...the kids call it the agility course and they jump from mound to mound with lakes of mud inbetween. They were there for hours and had a wonderful, free, creative time. The cousins were very worried about getting dirty, bless them.
Now they are on there way home, I do hope that they had a nice holiday with us and that the change of enviroment wasn't too stressfull for them. My kids have just watched me dismantle the PS2 with nary a twitch.:T
Thanks to all for the kind words about my boys. I just wish they could stay 10 and 7 forever.:oKatie.0 -
Spent the day at the science museum-avoiding the housework ! Loving the flylady thread but seriously...childrens bedroom ? I can't even get in thru the doorway !! It is a bomb site and I keep on tidying it up and they keep on ....anyoone seeing where I am going !!! Gosh I do sound like my mother ! She'd b so proud !!
My Dad is coming over in an hour which I am pleased about only I need to ask if I can borrow some money which makes me feel really **** I hate it but have no other option at the moment. Mortgage company taking us to court over the house !!! Asked my mum this morning -she said no ! Its not like she doesn't have it either but she is entitled I suppose. My MIL always helped dig us out of a hole and we would alwys pay her back-it was sort of a rolling loan ! But sadly she passed away last year after being really poorly. OH took loads of time off work to look after and now hey presto we're skint !! Life eh, whatever happened to 'one good turn' ? Anyway plan is to butter Dad up with a pint and a packet of nuts ! Wish me luck !!
Have a good evening all,

My problems with DS1 are getting worse. I've had a phone call from one of the pastoral people at the school on behalf of the head of year. He's supposed to have said some terrible things. Really awful. I find it difficult to believe as he is just not worldly enough to even imagine them. He's been excluded on Monday and I have to have an interview with the head of year before he can go back.
I picked him up on the way home from school. He was running and was at least 400 yards ahead of the rest of the pack. I asked him why he was running and he said it was because x and x and x and their mates are going to beat him up. He is not physically very big and is a July birthday so is one of the youngest in the year. He told me about his day and said that people had made up stories about him and told the head of year to get him in trouble. He's been thrown against a wall and kicked by one of the large lads in his class. He has a bruise on his arm and large one on the back of his leg.
There is a message on the answerphone that this large kid has been placed in isolation. What I don't get is why he gets isolation for physically attacking my boy and my boy gets excluded for something he is supposed to have said?
Arrrrrggggg! Sorry for going on.:o0 -
Crikey Sahmx5,
That sounds awful-can I ask how old he is ? Once he is on school property he is sole responsibilty of the school-they should be doing evrything in their power to look after him and keep him safe in the absence of the parent. I would kick off at the head and spin it round on them-ask what they plan on doing about it. Good luck-stay strong, I work best when I am angry but it doesn't last very long !!

Personally sahmx5, I would be ringing up now demanding a 9 a.m. appointment with the head, and taking DS1 with you in full school uniform, anticipating that his exclusion will be removed!
loobyloo80 is correct, put the onus on them.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
