OS Friday 23 February '07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22nd Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all. Well actually I'm off to bed soon having been on nights. I know it says above don't start a thread before you go to bed but us night workers don't have much choice and anyway I'm going to bed this morning.

Hopefully, the dustmen will creep past later, the postman will not bang the letterbox and the cat will stay snuggled up long enough for me to get a decent few hours zzzzz before she decides to attack my toes!

Have good day.

:hello: Goooooood Morning, fellow OS’ers :hello:

Congratulations GR and family on the safe arrival of James, he’s absolutely gorgeous!!!

Blairweech, really sorry to read your news. I hope you’ll be able to sort things out in ways which will suit you.

    COOLTRIKERCHICK – You’ll soon get through that 500g pack after you’ve visited http://www.popcorn.org/nutrition/recipes/index.cfm ;):D

Catznine, add me to the list who wash their hair before going to the hairdressers :o Maybe I should get a headscarf and wear that instead, like my mother used to do – would surely be moneysaving

mrs mix – hope the consultant gives the go ahead, she can’t be expected to go on like this, poor girl.

Out all day today so nothing will get done on the house front but I do need to put the slow cooker on before I go.

Have to make a peasant outfit this weekend for d11yo, school is having a medieval banquet next week. Won't be much feasting for him because the peasants only get potage and he's already decided he doesn't like it - even though it's nothing more than basic vegetable soup and he eats that at home :rotfl: Last year when d12yo had his, he was picked as a Lord so I didn’t have to worry about making him an outfit in the end. Trouble is, when I had a mass tidy up of the dining room two weeks ago, I *know* I put the instructions away somewhere “safe” (like you do!) but I cannot remember where that “safe” place is :o oops!

Another weekend task will be tackling the cat. With one thing and another he’s not been groomed quite as thoroughly as he should have been and now he’s got a few knots which need cutting out, quite a few actually – I don’t think he’s going to like me very much! Wonder if it will be easier with a razor? Any thoughts?

Have a good Friday everyone, ((hugs)) for those who need/want them and :hello: to all the new faces. TTFN

Morning Queenie, Mrs Mix, Kyle and all who follow.

I think I can honestly say this is the earliest I've ever posted on here. I've been awake since 5. Issues at w**k are just playing on my mind and I woke up angry with certain people and I just couldn't get back to sleep.

Kyle - I think your hair looks great.

Not a lot doing today just more w**k. I'm giving up supermarkets so this weekend I'll be visiting a few different places for the shopping. I'm not sure whether to do the shopping first and see what I can get and then do the meal plans around that or do the usual - meal plans then shop. I'll think about it and decide later.

I have quite a bit of catching up to do with the housework this weekend. DH is in Wales until Sunday so at least the weekend will be mine, so to speak. I also have a 3000 word essay that I need to make a start on.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning!

kyle - smashing hairdo! wish I had straight hair:rolleyes:

Big talk to DS1 tonight after what came to light last night. Didn't sleep too much for it going round in my mind. I think he's been lying to his GF about the manic depression and overdose so that she doesn't leave him. Hope to get to the bottom of it tonight. Not looking forwards to it.

On a lighter note am off to get my hair cut this morning and then a session of reflexology this afternoon:j

Hope you have a great day

hugs to those who need them
    Back later.

    take care xx
