sahmx5 wrote:Thank you everyone for your support and advice. I will definitely write it all down as I am the proverbial lioness protecting her cubs! I get emotional and sidetracked easily. I have rung the school and have an appointment with the head of year on Tuesday morning at 8.15. Don't know how the other kids are going to get to school.
Digging a little deeper it happened while they were waiting for the music room to be opened. The teacher was 15 minutes late. I feel even more annoyed now. If they blinking teacher had been there it wouldn't have happened.
If your son is 12yo and it was a class 'mate' (I use the term loosely) who physically attacked him, then I assume that the other lad is 12/13yo? In which case, I would be contacting the Police, tonight, now! I would have his injuries documented by the Police - ask them to photograph them - and persue the matter that way. Ask their advice. I would include explaining how your son was running away from the lads in fear of being given another beating.
Yes, it happened in school and yes, the school has to deal with it as they see fit - however, you also have the right to treat it for what it is, it is an assault! It should be treated as such. Now that's not to say you are being vindictive towards these other lads, after all, it's only fair ( ) that they learn the consequences of their poor behaviour ... wouldn't want them to think they can go through life thumping out at others now would we
Think of it as doing them a favour

I am sick, tired and weary of bullying and the way schools deal with it! Yes they are limited by how they deal with it, but, they are also acting as judge and jury and sometimes, just sometimes, they also need a lesson in how to 'judge' things - let the Police do what they can in conjunction with the school. It won't help at all with Monday's exclusion, but it will be a big fat notice to the school that *you* believe your son and that a double injustice has been done 1) in him being targeted and 2) by him taking the blame for something which he sounds like he isn't responsible for.
If you take your own photo's of the bruises, do not use a digital camera (it could be claimed that the photo's were edited) and get a couple of copies too.
It is *not* acceptable for your child to come home bruised and bullied!!! <---- yes, it does make me cross, if you couldn't already tell
Good luck! ((hugs))~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

looby - good luck with your Dad, hope he's able to help. Stick around here long enough and you *will* get your finances sorted out ((hugs))
Personally had a rotten day - d11yo text me (wise move!) to let me know he'd got a split in his school trousers courtesy of a friend ... split? SPLIT!!!??? The whole of the crutch and half the inside of one leg was gone  :wall: At least he came back with a hessian sack for his peasant outfit ... he can blinking well wear that for the week instead of uniform

Stonking headache all day, couldn't concentrate on what I was doing at all - early night methinks, see if I can catch up on lost sleep. Trouble is, because my sleep patterns are all topsy turvy, if I risk an early night, I'll end up only sleeping an hour
On a positive note, d11yo received a Bronze Merit Award :j :j
Right, I'm in need of caffine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good evening everyone & hugs to those in need. I blame my advanced age for the fact that I have read all the mssages & promptly forgotten them.
I work at a secondary school & we take a very proactive stance on bullying, but it is a very difficult subject. No one likes their child to be bullied, but also no onelikes to hear that their child is a bully either. Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

KyleYour hair looks lovely.

Sahmx5It might be worth getting your son to write down what happened today before he forgets any of the details.
Have a good evening.0 -
SAHM5 hope everything goes ok for you on mon have you a partner or friend you can take with you sometimes a friend is better as they are not emotionaly involved and can ask questions and tell the head things that dont add up whilst herding you back in the corner with a chair as you are only naturally turning into a lioness protecting her cub  anyhoo hope your DS is ok we have had a few of these instances with DS so i know where you are coming from as someone else said if they are over 12 you can involve the police we did this on one occasion and they went round to the childs house and spoke to them explaining that it is a criminal offence but my DS did have to go to the police station to make a statement
Tap Lady hope your chat with DS goes ok and you can get to the bottom of any problems:grouphug:
Penny Pincher sorry to hear about the cleaner dont really know what to suggest with the ironing is there a local co that collects and drops off we have quite a few round here?0 -
evening everyone,
I have not had chance to post much this week due to being very busy at work - I have not even had chance to keep up with all the threads! I have a nice quiet weekend ahead however. OH is away all weekend working which will bring in some very welcome bonus money:j so I am alone with DS. I am planning on spending as much time as possible on the allotment as DS is very happy playing in the mud. I got some fruit bushes planted in on Wed - an exciting moment as it was my first bit of planting on my new polt. When I say new I mean new - up until last year the site was a wasteland shoulder high in brambles!
I am going to have a bit of a surf, watch Martin on ITV then go to bed! Not a very exciting friday night, but just about all I can manage:rotfl:

SAHM5 - i agree with Queenie, goto the police, as well as the school. Your son sounds like he is getting into trouble because of other things (not that they are always excuses, but this time it def sounds valid) Bullies should not be allowed to get away with this, especially as it is actual physical bullying thats going on. ((HUGS)) to you and your son.
Taplady - hope things are ok with you and your son today xxx
loobyloo - hope things will be ok.
Blairweech - hope you managed to get some things sorted today x
Children out at their youth club at the moment, so a bit of peace now, im so glad its friday. DSs football has been called off tomorrow, so planning an early night and a bit of a lie in tomorrow, as ive not been feeling well all day. Really think a bit of sleep will do me the world of good.
((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one, or just wants one - and an extra cwtch to Kaz xxx
Have a lovely evening everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Hi everyone,
Well the 3G card arrived today so we are online again. :j I've had tea, showered, jarmies on and sitting here on my bed relishing the thought of having a night surfing. It's still early morning in Oz so will wait for a while before I wake them up.
Had a email from OS this morning and he starts back at the mine shortly. Just has to have his medical first. Everyone else is doing well but DGS still not saying Granny.
Kyle Your hair looks bonny.
Kattiekoo Your boys are gorgeous. Lovely pic's.
VickyA Hope it goes well. Are you buying or selling?
sahmx5 I'd do what Queenie suggested. How awful for him and you. Bullying makes my blood boil as well. Hope you get some results come Monday.
Well off to surf. Hope you all have a good night. It's so odd being on the same time frame now. Can't believe how many pages the thread is now. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

) Very tempted to go with your whisky suggestion, anything that will help me sleep would be welcome at the moment!!!
Aussie - hope you are having a lovely time (and you arnt too cold!!!)0
