Hi i have recently requested the charges back giving the bank 14 days to reply to myself. i received a letter 7 days later to say The bank was considering my claim and they would respond as soon as possible. It is now 14 days later. so i rang RBS today and they said the claim would take between 7 and 8 weeks. Is this correct or should i send the 3rd letter threatening court proceedings. Thanks Jodie

Hi, sounds like we are going at same pace ! I sent letter requesting charges amounting to £290 (without interest) on April 13th and only had one reply on the 19th April, stating they are considering claim and would respond asap I've today sent template letter stating I have not had satisfactory response from them etc and giving them 14 days to reply before court action.

Just go ahead with 3rd letter like I've done !! Good luck x;)

I handed mine in 15 days ago today and to date have not had any sort of response. What number should I telephone?
  • My son phoned customer relations on 0131 523 5116 and got much more information about progress of his claim. (This is if you are in scotland.) Don't use the direct dial phone number written on the letters - the telephone operators seem to have a script or standard answers to say and they are no help at all!

Hi everyone! I have been reading through the RBOS thread but have not read if everyone is waiting for the 8 weeks or proceeding to the online stage stage.

    Please advise!!

I have two numbers for RBS customer relations, one from the letter and one given to me by my branch....

    08453030442 (number on received letter)
    08000155035 (given out by branch)

Its worth noting though, and I may be wrong, that the second one is a free phone number. I have been put on quite substantial hold whilst ringing and would be hopping mad if I was being charged!!

I too am at the court proceedings stage...but the banks own 8 week period is up next week so I may give them a ring to see what they have to say. Im claiming £1166.

I sent off my letter to the rbs claiming £11,100.00 ( yes ELEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED POUNDS:eek: ) last week. This morning i received the standard letter back we are currently considering you claim. So i phoned them and got a lovely girl on the phone who said basically just wait and we should get a offer from them by the end of june and that the offer would be roughly the same as the charges. So keep your fingers crossed for me because £11,100.00 will make a huge difference to my life. If i do get anthing near that amount the  is on me.

Hi, just joined up today and this is my first post here so hope someone can help. I put in my claim for £4200 a good few weeks ago now and heard abslolutly nothing so last week I wrote them the letter informing them that if I didnt hear in 14 days I would start court action - still no response not a peep! I am at this moment typing this whilst trying to get through to the customer relations office to ask what is going on. To be honest I could do without filing a claim as I am at the same stage with another claim to the Halifax who have dug their heels in. Is it worth keeping on trying to speak to someone on the phone or should I just borrow the money from someone and get on with the claim when the 14 days is up next week? Are they generally taking people to the wire regarding the court process or are they settling at a much earlier stage by making an offer?

    Any help appreciated. thank you
