Is it just me who hasn't heard a dickie bird out of RBS? I have called them a couple of times after sending off letters 1 & 2, just to be told "we have logged your claim - it'll be 6-8 weeks".
Nothing through the post confirming anything - now at the moneyclaim stage and they have acknowledged it. What's the usual dance they do now - anyone know? Are they likely to offer soon or perhaps will they defend and then offer at the 11th hour? Would be nice of them to at least acknowledge me by a letter!
It's not as if I'm claiming for million - just 1200 squids!

I have exactly the same from the Halifax, although they have acknowledged a time scale, which will be exactly 8 weeks!

Not quite as easy as some people seem to get there money back, but the template letter does state that we give them 14 days to respond which they duly did!

    I shall carry on

    Hi Jo
wonder if you can advise. I am claiming for my bank charges(RBS) on my personal account. I also have a joint account but no longer with my partner, can I claim for half the charges on that account?
    thanks

Well what do you know - just yesterday I was saying I hadn't heard from RBS and today a letter comes in offering £1215 which is what I had already claimed.
Some advice please - do I take the money and run, or do I now hold out and see whether I can claim back the £1646 which it has escalated through on moneyclaim? I am getting married this year so the extra £400 could sit nicely behind the bar.....!
Does anyone know whether the Royal would pay out fully if I sit and wait?
    Thanks!

    Why is everyone ignoring me.

I never get a response hardly ever from my questions

Add them to your charges if you are unsure, if you are wrong no doubt they will tell you.

Your figures are very similar to mine. After I received my 'offer' letter (without the interest claimed) I followed the MSE procedure & declined it stating I would commence proceedings within 14 days. They never replied so I did my bit on Money Claim online and issued my claim thro the court. A week later they replied to my earlier letter saying they had validated my claim & it represented all the 'administration' charges that had been applied to my account & that they wouldn't consider additional payments for consequential interest, or legal charges. They asked me to consider acceptance of their original offer. It is apparent that they had not at that stage been told about my online claim, so I replied stating that as their reply came too late I had already issued my claim in court. I have had an Acknowledgement of Service letter from the court, which includes their solicitors details stating that they 'intend to defend my claim in full'. I have not been asked to supply any further details. They have until 24 May to do something, or I win!!

I got told by a lady on the phone at RBC that they are not taking interest into account!! Don't know if it's worth accepting the offer or not, I suppose it depends on how much interest you stand to lose. One of my RBS claims only has £30 interest so not worth bothering about but the other one is £270 so I'm a bit more reluctant to just let that go; probably will in the end though. The extra hassle of waiting around, more paperwork etc ain't really worth it.
