Just a quick quetion for you with regards RBS, have you claimed your overdraft charges to?0
-
I've been trying to claim unfair charges back from The Royal Bank of Scotland for my two bank accounts. I asked for statements back last year, but didn't have the courage to do anything with them until March of this year.
I sent them the first letter for both accounts on 12th March and the second letter on 27th March. I had no reply to any letter for either of my accounts.
So on 23rd April I filed a claim with MoneyClaim for both accounts for £740 and £2650. I now have a letter from MoneyClaim showing that RBoS have acknowledged the smaller claim and that they "Intend to defend all of this claim", but no such response for the larger claim.
I'm interested to know if anyone else has been in this position with RBoS and if so what they experienced from this point?0 -
Just looking for some reassurance that im not doing something wrong. I've followed all the advice on Martins guide.
I requested my statements which i got well within the 40 day notice period and they didnt even charge me but then when i sent my letter asking for refund of charges (complete with charge itinery) i gave them 3 weeks with no answer. I realised that i hadn't sent it recorded delivery and couldn't prove they recieved it so i then sent the same letter again recorded. It has been almost 3 weeks again with no answer.
Is this typical of the stalling tactics or may i be missing something?0 -

Phone them to see if they have received the letters, apparently the gentle approach seems to work with RBS. If you read back on some of the postings people seem to get much further with them when they are polite etc.Bank Charges - MCOL – LTSB Current Account £4,603.92 / Settled £5,680.76 /Financial Ombudsman – LTSB £11,715.84
PPI - Debenhams / Settled - £2243.20We're in the money!!!:T :beer:0 -
Hey
Just off the phone to RBS customer relation department, sent my statements and letter in last week and wanted to get confirmation that they have received them ok(which they have).
The customer services person i spoke to though, said they should be in contact with me in around 8 weeks, even though it states in my letter 14 days.
I just left it at that, the guy was perfectly polite....should i wait the 8 weeks? seems a long time.0 -
Do you think its best to send your claim to RBS head office in Edinburgh or to your Branch?0

I found it easier to hand it into my local branch, just remember to get a receipt from them.0

I got told the same thing but I'm giving them the 14 days to reply too, they don't let you decide when to pay your charges - they just take them from your account!!!

Hi
Could anyone give me some advice please?
I've been with RBS the whole time I was at uni and they have repeatedly charged me. I wrote 10 weeks ago requesting my bank statements. 4 weeks later I received only half of them. I've complained twice about this and was told the remaining statements would be re-sent. They then resent me the SAME statements I had already received. I wrote a letter to their Complaints manager and haven't received a reply.
I am fed up of them setting the time scale. My current charges are approx £1500, but am still waiting on 2 and a 1/2 years of statements. Can anyone tell me if I can make a claim on an estimate? As I have worked out I have been charged approx £34/mth since Aug 03. If I then take this back to cover the missing statements my claim would be over £3,000 (with interest).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks0 -
