Hi all
Just got a reply to my first letter reclaiming just over £1000 charges from Halifax, In it they say that the financial services authority rules gives them 8 weeks to investigate and respond and have offered to respond in 4 weeks!
do i wait for this or just go ahead and send the next letter giving them 14 days or its to court? Is this a stalling tactic??
any help appreciated..
Many thanks

Standard letter from the bank, send them off your next letter in your timescale.0

royal bank of scotland has sent us a letter saying that they are going to give us our money back and it is going to be paid straight into our account. Can anyone tell me how long this usually takes. Thanks0

Have already filed with Money Claim, but I'm curious about Abbey's 'investigation' findings. After over eight weeks we received what looks very much like a standard letter telling us that we were very naughty & we knew the rules, that they had looked at each charge & found them in line with their incurred costs, helpfully providing the very unhelpful debt management number, & telling us that our letters would go astray if they did not have a special new reference number attached.
I have written back & thanked them for their letter & kindly requested the breakdown of admin costs they claim to have made. Has anyone with any of the banks ever received this? & was our letter just a standard one? It certainly didn't address any of our questions.
Have started to use the same achingly polite yet offensive tone as they do in all my replies to bank, think I may be enjoying this a little too much

I told them they had gone over that and now it was 49 days, she said she would call me back.
After 2 hours of waiting I PHONED THEM, they are still looking into it and if I wanted the RBS could only look into three years of charges and the other three would be left for head office. Is this true?
She is phoning me tomorrow morning hopefully refunded.
Has anyone else had this problem?
As you don't seem to have received your statements/information please send them off this letter and report to the ICO.

HI there
I sent my letter off to the Halifax on the 8 th March 2007, I recieved a reply rather quickly by the 17th March (My Birthday) the reply explained under there complaint handling rules set by the FSA they have up to 8 weeks to investigate my letter/complaint reference Bank charges. They also explain that they if they are unable to fully respond to my concerns within 4 weeks, they will write and update me of the progress. What should I do? Do I give them that time limit to respond or do I issue another letter giving them 14 days before I issue court procedings????Help has anyone else had a similar letter. I dont want to rock the boat, should I give them there timescale or are they just stalling. Please reply all advice greatly appreciated
Total Claim Submitted to Halifax is £3924.41 which includes £758.41 interest

they did that to me. if its been over the time period you specified, you should continue and issue the second letter with notice of intent to proceed to court. Ask for a response within 14days. This worked for me as they have just offered me my money back (less interest) but still a result! dont let them dictate to you! Good Luck x;)Reclaimed Charges £2433

Does anyone know the correct address for Royal Bank customer services in Edinburgh?
I have had no response to my claim (18 days) and am now sending them a letter threatening court action if they do not reply within 14 days.
I recieved a letter from Retail Regulatory Risk at RBS today and their address is:
2nd floor
The Cornerstone
60 South Gyle Crescent
South Gyle Park

I hope that this helps you.!!!!!! happens!!!:D0 -
Does anyone know if I can claim using MCOL. I live in scotland and bank with BOS and RBS I am caiming money from both banks. Both accounts were opened at Scottish branches.
I noticed that you need a mailing address in England to use MCOL. I have friends who live there so I could use that as a mailing address.
Would this allow me to claim via MCOL and would this have any adverse affect on my friends using thier address for such a claim?
My second question is, I have debts which have been passed onto Blair Oliver and Scott via BOS.
I have applied for and succesfuly been granted a protected trust deed for all my debts which prevents any creditors persuing diligence against me for any monies owed so long as I continue to meet with my payments.
Would the bank try and claim this money for outstanding debt owed to them?
Thanks
