Went through my statements and the total im claiming for is £914. Wrote first letter and nothing asking for money back, wrote another letter after 14 days telling them I will be taking them to court, and 8 days later, they have now sent me a letter telling me they will investigate and they are allowed upto 8 weeks to reply as the FSA allow them to have this much time, but said they will reply within 4 weeks and if not let me know it will take longer.....so far so good, there actually listening
Barclays - Phoned them just after halifax and they was not happy to send my statements unless I paid £3 per statement, i mentioned the data protection act and laughed he then said its not actually in the data protection act and I said dont worry, I will send £10 to your company and get the statements that way, which I did, a week later I got half my statements, they have the others on microfilm and said they will get them to me within 6 weeks, so far total is about £300....
My comment for both of these is 'Stick to your timetable', both sound like they're trying to stall, so ignore their pleas for more time.0 -

I think almost everyone gets this letter nowdays, they chose to treat it as a complaint cause they have 8 weeks to deal with complaints, but it is not a complaint as you are just asking for your charges back, stick to your timescales and sent the second letter after 14 days, this gives them plenty of time.....0 -
Definatly time for me to send the next letter then. Have just filled it in with my details and will post it tomorrow first class recorded when I get paid. If I am correct it is now the one threatening to take them to court letter. therefore if I don't hear anything back by the 11th april, I then have to proceed to the claims court step.:eek:19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0

Rightly or wrongly, I have given Barclays the benefit of the doubt and given them 8 weeks, I know I know!!!!! Rang them today as I have been doing every week so they don't push me furthur down the pile. I was told that the 8 weeks is up tomorrow and that if I don't hear anything I must contact the Financial om. They had better come up with the goods or heaven help them, I've waited long enough!!!Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

Am now sending the threaten court letter to RBS on behalf of my partner as they are saying they will not pay charges, charges are not unlawful, etc.
Trust them to be awkward with us :mad:0 -
Hi, Can anyone help !! I have had all my statements back from the Halifax and calculated what account charges I have had. I have sent them the second letter after not hearing anything back from the first. I have just had a reply saying basically they will look into it and will get back to me within 8 weeks ! They then go on to say I should note the complaint handling rules set by there regulator, The financial services Authority.
I dont know what to do. The dead line I gave them is Friday and then as per my letter I would start court proceedings. Can anyone help please !
p.s this is the first time Ive done this so I hope iv done it right.0 -

Regardless of their complaints procedure you do have the option to proceed to court stage on friday if no satisfactory response received. Good luck0 -
Today I phoned the bank and told them I hadn't even received confirmation about my charges, they said they had 40 days.
I told them they had gone over that and now it was 49 days, she said she would call me back.
After 2 hours of waiting I PHONED THEM, they are still looking into it and if I wanted the RBS could only look into three years of charges and the other three would be left for head office. Is this true?
She is phoning me tomorrow morning hopefully refunded.
Has anyone else had this problem?0
