I'm new to this so please bear with me. I'm so ashamed! I've just got through my bank statement from RBoS from 2001 - 2003 and the total comes to £3468.88. Where do I send my next letter to to request the money back.
Thanks
Jill
Send this first letter to your local branch.0 -
Would I be able to send it to the Edinburgh address. The reason being, my cousin works in my branch of RBoS and I don't really want her knowing my business. As it is a small branch I know they would all be talking about it.0

like edinburghlass said jill it ought to/should/maybe better too send it to your branch.....But i sent my A&L 1st letter to the head office as i really couldn't rememeber which my branch was ( i never use it due to doing online banking all the time) plus it was originally a post office account that they took over so i don't even think i have ever known tobe honest.......ANYWAY i'm rabbiting on....i sent mine to the head office and got a reply back so it found its way to the right place i guess....hope this helps

Hi there everyone
I have been reading through all the information on this site for a while now and it is great but i still have a problem, i am with RBS and have been for a number of years. Ive just recieved all my statements from them and im working out all my charges this is where i have the problem, i used to have the royalties gold account and now have the royalties premier account, now i understand that there is a charge each month for having these accounts and that i cant claim these charges back, this is fine but they seem to incorporate the charge for having these accounts in with other charges, for example this month i was charged £43 now i know £15 of this is for having the premier account leaving £28 which is for something else the problem is over the past 5 years these charges seem to change so much how can i work out what i was paying for having the account over five years as the bank only gives me the information on what i am paying now.
any replies will be appreciated..... thanks0 -

if you read a few posts above i've been having the same kind of problem, i've been told by the RBOS to call the main switch board 0131 556 8555 and ask to speak to someone in the marketing dept for the type of account i need and then ask to speak to someone in the product team. the type of account i need info on is the royalties not the gold or premier accounts so thats as far as i can help you
hope this helps

I received my statements along with a letter from RBS head office, and at the bottom of the letter it says:
"To progress further, please write to our Customer Relations Department ........................ to request a refund of charges."
So they clearly know my plans. Has anyone else encountered this? What is my best course of action? Should I continue as advised on here, or do what they ask?
Any help much appreciated, thanks!0 -
I have sent two recorded delivery letters to RBS. They do not appear to have been signed for. I therefore I have taken court action to recover my money that they have illegally taken. Watch this space!0

Well sent Mint the "threaten court" letter and it's the 7th day today and heard nothing.
Going to ring them tonight and see what they say and will start court claim in the morning. :rolleyes:0
