    Obviously with six cats

I think OP has 4 cats, it's me who currently has 6.:)

I have just started using majic clean crystals £5 for one (small) bag that lasts a month with no need to change! I was a bit sceptical at first about this but it really does work and no smell. It's also boi/deg so you can put it in your compost apparently not that I have one.
Obviously with six cats it would be £30 but that £10 cheaper than £40 and might come in bigger bags that are cheaper..

Thank you calicocat but I think I will stick with the Yesterday's News, £30 for a moth is still a lot more than I pay at present (£10.99 for 3 weeks, which for a month must be about £15). Besides I have kittens due soon and then my litter consumption goes up !! If the majic clean is the sort that swells and doesn't disintegrate, I would worry it might cause a blockage in a kitten's tummy. Kitten's always eat their litter, like babies who put everything in their mouths.

Thanks again for the suggestion but it's not for me. May suit others though.:)

Oops.....thought OP has 6 too....got it wrong again.

The cystals don't seem to swell and stay hard, wierd stuff,I don't know how it works to be honest. For anyone who can't lug big heavy bags of litter it would be really good though as SO light. It's apparently a natural product but I can't see on bag exactly what it is. May google it.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

OK, so we were both right then :rotfl:Calicocat & me that is.

To avoid lugging bags of litter around I have mine in a cupboard in the hall with a plastic litre measuring jug as a scoop. When I change and disinfect the litter tray completely, I use the scoop to re-fill the tray.

However, I admit I have to store the unused bags (as I bulk buy) elsewhere, so when I need to replace one in the hall cupboard I do need to move it then.

I would still be worried about using a litter which didn't disintegrate if it was swallowed by a kitten, as it may cause a blockage internally. Also, for me it sounds a bit expensive. I can get through a fair amount of litter once I have kittens.

Sounds good on odour control though.

Yes I have two cats who are expecting. One this Friday, I doubt whether they will be on the due date, they are usually late, and the other girl at the end of next month.

So are you ' expecting' a particular breed? I've always had rescue moggies..but toy with the idea of a pedigree at times ,haven't as yet,it's not so much the cost...whenever I have an 'animal gap' I always end up hearing of kittens needing rescue.
