Oooo, I wouldn't want to trust my dog, or house keys to someone who has no fixed address, you don't know what they might run off with, hardest thing to lose would be Zara!! Could take a fancy to her and take her off, sell her or anything. You did wise to avoid them.
Didn't you say that someone off here was a possibility?
Don't you sometimes walk with someone from here? Would they be able to perhaps pick Zara up if the other lady couldn't on the odd occassion?
Its very hard trying to arrange pet things around work sometimes.
I am extremely lucky that I have a neighbour who often has my dog, she's got him at the moment as I will be out a long while tomorrow. He often stays with her for a few days at a time. She used to have a dog but that died a couple of years ago, they can't have a dog at the moment but she often has either my dog or the dogs of a couple of friends. Ha ha, best way, she has the dogs but it doesn't cost her anything to keep them and it doesn't cost us anything because she loves having a dog around. Win win. Its a pity you couldn't find someone like that locally.
Are there any fit retired people nearby that you could ask?
Often there are people for whatever reason can't have pets of their own, perhaps live in a flat where they are not allowed pets, that would love a dog for company for a few hours.
I hope you find someone soon.

I live like in the middle of nowhere - not where the cross is, just a bit off but this is what it looks like where I live:

    aldersbrook.jpg

Fantastic for dogs, not so for anything else.

ONE little shop, mostly shut anyway and if open - often has no basic things like .. milk for example. Then there is a petrol station on the main road and... that is it.

    Love it here though.... :)

Bt would not like anyone from my estate to walk Zara/have my keys, too close for comfort.. and apart from my estate - woods, fields...LOL

There has got to be someone out there in your area that would welcome a) some extra cash if they aren't wrking. Or b) like me hasn't got a dog at the moment due to shifts but would like to get their 'dog-fix' via someone elses dog. ............I am trying to think of where/what else you could do to find someone, but am lost at the moment. Will keep thinking.........
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

What about looking for someone who lives near where you work instead? This would though mean they had zara at their house untill you picked her up? A long shot maybe, but if you found someone who would do this every other day maybe and then someone local to take her out the other 2. I do it,as in have snoopdog at mine whole day when I have him and very occassionaly 4 the wkend,so others must be prepared to do it.

Theye would - if it was a smaller dog it wold be easy to find soeone.

It is very diferent with a dog Zara's size.

Where I live, there is millions (or so it seems) dog around as mine is the only little estate of flats surrounded by big houses all over and as you see on the photo above... masses of places to walk the dogs - so lots of people have more than one dog here.

Small dog - would be easy to find someone to take her for even "day care" but not with Zara...

I know lots of people knock the good old Gumtree but so far I was very lucky using it for various issues/things and always managed to get what I wanted/needed - just a metter of time ;)

Oakley has offered to look after Zara but I told him to stop all that nonsense! Sid said he would look after the cats, stupid boy, he'd have no nose left!

Hope it all works out for you, GR

Yup Oakley noticed that, he's sulking in a corner now, muttering about fickle b1tches. Sid's version of cat-sitting involves sticking his nose into said cat to make sure the cat is real. Hence he gets swiped a lot. Bless him, he's not very bright, but he's a very happy boy, whatever comes his way!
