Saturday mornings, yes, as far as I recall. It seems to be one of their busiest days
The fish is sold from what they call "The Shed" down near the upturned boats and the launching slipway. A google search might bring up more information maybe.0 -
Hi everyone, I agree Viv, such a shame, but at least if we keep trying to bump it up everyday! Had my first freecycle exchange last night, which was pleasing and things seem to start being sold on ebay. I've got 18 items finishing on Friday, so fingers crossed!
Regarding de-cluttering, can anyone recommend car boot sales, or know of any due to take place soon, preferably on a Saturday that I could go to as a seller? I know about the Woolpit one, but wondered if there was a regular sale in Bury St Edmunds? Thanks!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

Queen Bess - Sorry can't answer that one about a car boot. Used to go to as both a seller sometimes and a buyer to several in Norfolk when the kids were young. Managed to clothe them and provide lots of craft activities/games really cheaply. I'll ask on the local freecycle cafe for you. Good luck with the e-bay items...what sort of things do you find that sell well?
Redfox - Thanks for the info about the fish seller will have to check him out.
Have given up on the idea of cleaning the oven....wanted to soap shelves outside but weather far too bad for that....so its decluttering for me todayWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
welcome jordylass. try some of the farm shops too...they don't close so early. I like Alder Carr in Needham market. Snape is great to visit but very expensive. Also Jimmy's farm is worth a visit and he is often to be seen around the place. Its off the A14 Wherstead turn off and sign posted from thereWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Hi all,
I'm from a village near Bury st edmunds and am trying to source a good box scheme for fruit and veg. I had one delivered last week via the co op milkman, but was dissapointed to say the least!
Have tried all the usual on line searches but no one seems to want to deliver to me
so any clues any one.:D0 -

I was staying in travel lodge near Alder Carr, so I did go there after reading about it on here. Got some jerusalem artichoke, (now need to see what to do with them), and some gorgeous olives.
I thought it might be possible to get some fish at Aldeburgh, but didn;t have time to look. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Been to the pre-school this morning where i had organised for some ladies to come from Suffolk county council to talk to the children about recycling and composting and tell a story about worms. The kids loved it especially when they got to prod in the compost (with paintbrushes) and find the worms...bless them.
We have soon got a visit from an Oral Hygienist. The kids really enjoy all the visits we organise as it adds something a bit different and exciting to the morning.
Nothing else exciting for me today, went to ASDA where i confronted a very rude man who decided he should be able to park in a parent and child space. I asked him why and he said his wife couldnt walk very well so i asked why he didnt use one of the Disabled spaces to which he admitted they didnt have a disabled sticker....grrrrr makes me so angry!!
Anyway think i have been on the computer too much, will go and do something crafty with DD1 while DD2 is asleep.... then it will be time to cook my roast....mmmmmm!

Have you tried River Nene? They certainly deliver to Bury, as it's advertised in our moreton hall directory, so being just outside Bury may qualify you!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

Hi all, I normally frequent other threads, particulalry the competions one, but thought I'd suggest a couple of places in Ipswich. Nacton Rd has quite a few shops, main ones I've used are the fruit & veg and the flowers, but my biggest recomendation is the butchers in Cliff Lane run by George. Absolutely fantastic range of meats, not as cheap as he supermarkets, but O so much fresher & tastier. He can get practically any cut of meat e.g. venison, rabbit, whole lamb, will cut bacon to whatever thickness you like and his flavoured grill sticks for BBQs are ace. One of the simplest things he does is peppered steaks, simply gorgeous (IMHO).From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Hi everyone in Suffolk,
Just back from work and dropping in a the thread to see what you have all been up to!
Re: the car boot sales, when we lived in Leiston we did lots of car boot sales two years running. The best ones were at Stratford St Mary, at the Riverside centre on the A12 opposite the caravan place and also the one at Friday Street, just off A12.
Have not done any since we have been back in Ipswich this last year. We did call into the one at Woolpit but it was dire, so we decided not to go. Since when we have been using freecycle to get rid of our clutter.
Re: Fish at Aldeburgh - yes there are quite a few fish huts along the beach opposite the White horse Hotel. When we were in Leiston i used to go there a lot, best one was called Silver Lady (name of their boat) can be a bit pricey though - especially at the weekends when all the Londoners are down at their holiday cottages! Also you can get fresh fish at Southwold, along the harbour area at the far end of town.
I think there might be something on at Alder Carr this weekend, I saw a sign in Stowmarket. No doubt we will be on our regular pilgrimage to Stowmarket caravans on Saturday so i will have a look.
