I think there might be something on at Alder Carr this weekend, I saw a sign in Stowmarket. No doubt we will be on our regular pilgrimage to Stowmarket caravans on Saturday so i will have a look.

I've been tipped off about a good farmers market at Great Garnetts Farm near Barnston. Barnston is just outside Great Dunmow and the farm is on the road to the Easters. The next one is on 17th March.
Very good for those with children as there are all kinds of animals to see.
I will visit and report back.....

It is but not as well as when under the OS forum. However several are trying to keep it going so that we can support each other.
Not had a good day today, as my stomach problem has been bad. Will be seeing doctor again on Friday so hope that together we can come up with a plan that will work towards getting me able to return to work.
Went to Lidl and got loads for my money including 4 lemons for 14p. Am going to slice them up and freeze to use in dishwasher to make it smell of lemon [ cheaper than those freshners you can buy.] Also got a vileda dusting system that had a large mop area which you put a cloth on and fix by pressing the clothinto the holes at the top. Am going to use it with one of my microcloths as a cheap micro-mop.
Used up all the old vegetables in a soup which I had for tea whilst OH had a pork chop [ I hate them]. Got some soup left for tomorrow's lunch.
Did try to do some housework but not feeling well enough so hopefully I'll be able to catch up tomorrowWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

I'm from a village near Bury st edmunds and am trying to source a good box scheme for fruit and veg. I had one delivered last week via the co op milkman, but was dissapointed to say the least!
Have tried all the usual on line searches but no one seems to want to deliver to me
so any clues any one.:D
Just read a leaflet today from the free newspaper i get pushed through the door, its from a company called Fenland Organics (https://www.fenland-organics.co.uk) who do organic boxes.
Don't know any thing about them but apparently they are new, and can be ordered and delivered via https://www.tesco.com, its listed in the groceries section and can be ordered with the rest of your shopping (so possibly clubcard points too).
the leaflet says a box contains a selection of 10 seasonal produce and is normally £11.99, or £9.99 if ordered before March 11th.

Hello ___ I found you, thanks for the PM. Is there anyone left on here from Norfolk?Always on the hunt for a bargain0

Hi!! I live in Norfolk and there is Heath Farm on the back road between Acle and Norwich, near South Walsham. They do fantastic home made pies and have a growing fruit and veg section, and deli counter. Rather nice stuff if you ever find yourself that way.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

Not sure about that one but I know some of Norfolk quite well esp round Norwich
Hope all are fine
I got my bargain of the week at B&Q today in Ipswich - a greenhouse/patio/basket watering kit for 17.98 instead of 34.98. Included the timer as well as all the connectors and pipes...really chuffed. There were quite a lot of other bargains there also, so may drag OH there again tomorrow, and I need some more compost, that he is so good at carrying!!!!!
More seeds planted today and some seedlings transplanted into pots. Apparently Lidl also has a lot of gardening offers at the moment so may go and have a nosy.
Off now to watch Corrie...and look out for all the places in manchester that I knowWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

Hi everyone
Pleased to see the thread is still going....its really strange to think that there are all these MSE fans nearby.......
Now, i have a question for you - does anyone know a farmshop or butchers in or around ipswich where I can get free range chicken? Does not necessarily have to be organic but must be free range ie. the chicken has had a good life!
OH and I were debating going completely veggie (I have been a veggie in the past, for over 6 years but not for the past few), but now we are thinking of just having meat once a week, but it must be "good" meat. OH was inspired by a radio 4 programme on Thursday with Hugh Fernley- WHittingstall (Meat King!!) who was promoting the idea of only eating very good or organic meat which had been preoperly treated not factory farmed but not every day. He said that in the past people never ate meat every day but only once a week or so becasue it was expensive and I find that good meat is expensive. This last couple of weeks when we have been having veggie meals nearly everyday and using up the meat in the freezer our food bill has gone down by 25%
I think this is a good idea but in the past when we have bought organic or free range meat it has always been from supermarket ie Mr T or Sainsb's. I'm trying to keep away from these at the moment and do more local shopping, so any ideas?
Thanks everyone and have a good OS Suffolky weekend.
